Another caliper set done and out to the customer! This was a special custom request and the color had to come from Germany! Its a very tricky color to picture also but its like a kawasaki green. Every time i took a picture it was just not the same and no matter what I did i failed at capturing the true color and this was the best I could get! Its that bright.

The new version of the bracket has arrived! I made some slight visual tweeks to make it look a little nicer ( even though its not seen on the car ) but to me holding it in the hands it looks better

This is now a dual bracket so it fits both the 1G and 2G knuckle edges without any modifications!

Hey all, So I managed to get the calipers but the Eclipse ones were not finished in time so those brackets are due in to me in the new year.

Currently have these calipers here with me now and I have 1 set of brackets for my daily which is a Kia Ceed GT (JD) and this is the knuckle its mounted too. I decided to start making parts for the kia/hyundai group also now which is also expanding me as a person and my range!

Just wanted you to see how amazing these have turned out and Im really excited these are done and the project is finally complete!!!

If anyone ever has any questions or you wish to place an order then please feel free to ask anything or PM me and I can get you sorted!

Thank you all

Bobby

These look great. Can you add weight comparisons above?
Hey everyone!

Just a small update,
These have still been going on in the back ground while I work on other bits and bobs.

The calipers are now complete and just awaiting for the brackets to be finished up then i can go and collect them all.

Im super excited how these have turned out! I have opted for anodised black on mine but many colors to choose from!

Could you include the fitment diagram in PDF formatted for US letter paper? With it done that way it should be very easy for any of us to print out 1:1.

This site does not allow me to upload it in pdf as thats what i originally had ready! It allowed me to upload it but once attached it blocked it out from view???

I like it Bobby! I am a maybe at the moment, but I love the idea of having rebuildable calipers with available replacement parts.

EC17PSE
Not a problem at all. They will always be around now but only at the normal price as the pre order discount is a 1 off i managed to negotiate.

I try to make everything as good as i can within the limits of whats able to be done of course. Always happy to produce new and innovative items for the community

What brake pads do these calipers use?
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
CP3215D50 so many come up as Aston martin pads as that was the pad shape Aston used but its a normal well used AP racing pad shape and many brands can cut and make a compound in this shape for you

RIght folks sorry for the delay in this getting further, they had 2 staff leave and 1 was my sales guy and the other was my design guy LOL but we are back on track now!!! brackets have been designed and we are working on the last revision for the duct mounting.

I have updated the main listing with the base pics of the bracket and a rough design of a cooling duct as its going to get tweaked slightly for mounting i plan to make for the calipers (Sold separately)

ALSO note the fitting template is also now in the pictures for you to download and check with your wheels!!!
please print at 100% and check the measurements before proceeding to cut and use! glue to stiff card and cut around it on the left/spoke side and check clearance from that!

this will tell you if you need a spacer, or if they will be fine as they are for you

Pardon my ignorance but is this only the front or is there a rear option as well?
One member found this helpful.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
Fronts for now. If there is real interest then i can look at doing a matching rear kit later on also. The rear bremo swap is still very much a decent option and quite affordable. I think i wont be as cheap as that option but i can still make them if required
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
I have been asked about 3 or 4 times if im doing rears so likely i will do them, i just want the fronts done and to sell first before i jump on the rears, i think you can understand that the fronts are more important currently

Will this preorder also include an option for 2 piece rotors?
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
I was going to look at yours after but I think i can still get something off in the pre order for yours as its still another kit at the end of the day plus rotors.
you available to chat later via video or something so i can go through the complete kit for your setup you require. pm me if yourok for a chat to discuss

If I could get confirmation they'll clear a 17x9 +35 rpf1 I'll jump in on the group buy.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
i wonder why they say it does here on the forum? sorry about that as i just found it here so thought it was ok info to share! and tire rack apparently too. the evo guys dont spec the 9"et35 but they do spec the 8.5 et 30 and they clear fine, with my calipers being smaller in overall width so say 7.5mm for the outside edge of face to spokes its a much better chance, let me see how long a brake template would take to draw up and get this emailed over for testing on your wheels.

but i just did a check on the wheels and rpf1 in your 9" x et35 has an outer spoke clearance of +1.4mm vs 8.5" x et30 so you gain 1.4mm clearance so by going through that I believe you will have lots more room then the evo guys have with brembos and these wheels https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/e...ffset-needed-clear-calipers.html#post10118350

The biggest difference is the 17x9 +35 sizing having the flat spokes versus the curved. That is what causes the Brembo fitment issues on 2g's.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
yeah im starting to read all kinds of issues in the design from size to size LOL. lets play it safe and let me get a template over to you and this we we can be 100% sure.
So just an update, while i did update the main listing with a photo i will update the question section also on this. I have the caliper design all sorted and i will be getting one made as an actual item for me to hold and see the end result and then i can have the calipers made.

I have had a provisional price from for the calipers and brackets today. They are going over it all once more to confirm its all checked out and confirmed.

Total cost shipped is going to come in at £925 or at current exchange rate is $1280, these will be always in UK pounds so the exchange will alter slightly so please remember this.

Remember this is for an oem knuckle Billet Caliper and Billet bracket thats going to be an Evo brembo equivilent using evo brembo rotors (rotors not included)

So what you get is 2x calipers, 2x brackets and all hardware to mount to the oem knuckle!

What you need is
Evo rotors 5-9,
Brake pads for the caliper which i can also supply at cost or you can order from the US with the Pad shape code vis carbotech, gloc or stoptech and many other places will use this pad shape/code

If you require different piston sizes then this will add a small charge on top. Price depends on size pistons you opt for.

Im just going through the final logo design with them.

I will be accepting orders for these shortly so if you are interested please get in touch

Thanks. I have no idea where I got that. One question though. If I want to go to bigger rotors is that going to be easy or will I have to get custom brackets made later?
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
This is one of the things i wanted to incorperate but it is not as easy as i was hopeing it would be. I was wanting a spacer to go in between but i think strength wise its a bit of an area where its not the NORM to do this. I will bring it up again and see if we can look at an interlocking spacer but that might incorp a higher cost to the brackets to have the extra machine work done,
Let me talk to them but worse case yes it will be just new Brackets only.
Leave it with me

Awesome. I knew it was your original intention to have it easy to swap but new brackets aren't the end of the world
One member found this helpful.
I have had my meeting with them end of last week and they are jist getting the data from my parts i gave them and awaiting the prices. When i get those prices i will update this along with what colors can be done and what it all means in the future for upgrades
Maximuscr31
Awesome. Definitely interested in these
What is the timeframe? Again, this is exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm mostly curious about time.

Are you willing to share what the piston sizes are on the caliper? I'm running rear EVO Brembos and would like to dial my brake bias in. (Obviously the bias depends on the torque arm of the caliper on the rotor, but with piston sizing I can build some estimates of what the rotor size ratios should be.)

Why not build a custom front knuckle with a larger wheel bearing that already includes radial mounts for the caliper? The front wheel bearings are a bit weak, and moving to a better/larger wheel bearing would reduce piston knock back and increase bearing longevity when used on track. This would increase costs, but I think it would eliminate a couple of pain points.

I have just updated the listing with the piston choices with surface area

I'd be interested in at *least* a 13" (330mm) rotor and likely a 6 piston caliper. I'm swapping my master cylinder and booster as well.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
Im sure i can work that out. Im going to get the 4 piston sorted but they wont have any issues doing a 6 piston and rotor combo. Pm me and tomorrow i can get back to you with caliper options and such
One member found this helpful.
You probably already have this in mind, but to appeal to the same crowd, I would think you would want to make sure this solution clears stock Evo wheels.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
Yes you are correct if i have worked it out correctly they wont be an issue
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
just confirmed again and the caliper is all clear and more space then the brembos offer due to being billet and not cast. so you gain 5mm in height and its also 15mm narrower overall and 9mm of that is from the spoke surface so you have alot more room then previously. thats the thing with billet calipers is they are so precisely made they can be smaller and fit better and it also means WEIGHT savings which everyone loves
What size brake pads would be used? I ask because depending on size or vehicle the brake pad is for, the options are much more abundant. For example, there isn't much of a selection for DSM brake pads but there are for Evos (Part of the reason I did the swap). This also applies for rotors 1 and 2-piece.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
you wont have an issue in anyway the only issue will be if you can decide on who to go with LOL. so the pads would be based on an AP racing pad shape so most places can make a pad for you. its a common AP pad shape and G loc make pads for it, Carbotech do also, you ALSO got ferodo, carbon lorraine, performance friction, pagid just to name a small few as im sure in the US will be many more brands i dont know about, even stoptech make pads so im sure hawk would also but there are many more that can be had for this caliper! if one opted for the 6 piston calipers then you would have about the same or a few more options due to the pad being slightly bigger so AP made it fit alot of the bigger calipers in there range.

i would never consider doing this if we was limited on pad choice, this whole operation will be to expand the brakes in everyway! ;-)

That's what I figured, just wanted to be 100% sure. Thanks.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
Not a problem dude. i know the stock DSM brakes suck for pad choises and the EVO does open alot up still
Are you looking to do a group buy that would have different pricing levels based on number of people who get in on it, or just one flat rate regardless of how many purchase?
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
1200 is a currently vauge estimation, whats different is you can upgrade any part in the future and no one offers this. Tce are apparently discontinuing builds for the dsm on their site but might still make parts. As far as i know no one offers you a choice of half the stuff im going to be able to offer for the brakes

@Black95TSIawd so to run back over your question on price. While it seems like its alot its as close to a brembo in specs as one can get it. Knuckles are getting harder to source now and its easier to make an item be a much simpler bolt on upgrade vs ctvs vs spacers snd cobra rotors etc mesning more limits on everything from rotor choice and pads etc, plus your always limited on size rotors so later on when you do wish to go bigger its another HUGE expense to buy new calipers new pads for calipers and everything else.
EC17PSE
EC17PSE
@Black95TSIawd
To follow on due to limited letters allowed to be used LOL

Mine just needs new rotors and brackets and you use the same caliper and pads! So you can likely see a huge saving here going bigger over everything else,

So i have tried to make it as close to what a brembo swap would cost (I calculated most of the swaps people have done and the ones who told me how much they paid for brembos and rebuilds plus coating) most of them ended up being in the $1500-1600 range but with no way of going bigger without spending anouther 2k for a whole new kit! So in the long run i can save you much more especially if you add what both would cost for the same end result
