- Background
- Always interested in autos. Growing up - Auto shop guy, Patient all-around mechanic (stay away from machining). Growing up (9-15) I helped my Dad rebuild a '69 Olds F-85 (Base model Cutlass) for "Non-sanctioned 1/8 mile racing" - SBC, Turbo400 w/manual valve-body/Hurst Quarter-Stick Shifter/3,500 stall converter. 4.11 Posi rear-end. Small-shot continuous nitrous (Activated at full-throttle) to a vacuum secondary 750 Holley/Holley Electric pump.
My present '90 talon was my first experience with AWD/Turbo/Imports. Bought it a day before I turned 18 (I'm now 34). I'm the second owner, it had 130,000 "High-Way" miles on it, and it was very well kept. Interior was and still is in near-mint condition. Exterior has no major bumps or bruises, barely any beginning rust. I drove it until the original turbo failed (Oil-Choked). Guessing original owner (Who bought it for his Daughter for college) either put low-quality oil in it, or missed regular interval oil changes. This is only an assumption, but three of the four cylinder-oilers where clogged and both balance-shafts had seized, They seized on me sometime between oil changes, but remarkably had no effect.
I love Cars of all shapes and sizes. From complete numbers matching perfection to complete creations. I focus on street-legal cars with aesthetic individuality...Hot Rods and Tuners...No Ricers...I also really enjoy "Sleepers", and keep my Talon looking as stock as possible.
