    I did have the coolant lines. As far as I have researched, I will want to tighten the FIAV spring all the way down, cap off the coolant line on the FIAV side of things and then loop the coolant line from the therm housing down to the heater pipe...

    More than likely your FIAV was at least partially stuck open. Did you still have coolant lines hooked up to the TB? Now that you closed off the FIAV, you will want to loop or cap those lines.
