You wont know until you check mechanical timing. If its way off yes you likely bent valves. If belt is broken its practically 100% certain.- So, I got the car home and got a better look. Also check firing order. I know its a no brainer, but sometimes the smallest thing is the culprit. Make sure you ARE GETTING SPARK. Good grounds to the engine are super important too. Just tips.

If the spark plugs are removed and you feel a "hard" spot while turning that isn't good at all. Rod is probably broken and valves are probably damaged. Time to pull the engine

Eclipse tails are 100% a direct swap, 1Ga or 1Gb. 1Ga Talon tails are a direct swap.
- I did a compression test before we pulled the engine, I was seeing about 140PSI on all four cylinders, plus or minus about 3-5 psi
