    I couldn't really make out the markings. It looked like one was marked North/South and the other East/West.The belt didn't completely snap. It does have a tear going long ways with visible shredded fibers. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow...

    You wont know until you check mechanical timing. If its way off yes you likely bent valves. If belt is broken its practically 100% certain.

    If you haven't had the deck surfaced shop towels won't get it. Yes it will degrease it but it won't touch the old gasket and there is likely a lot more there than you realize.If your deck doesn't look similar to this, it isn't clean.You must...

    Also check firing order. I know its a no brainer, but sometimes the smallest thing is the culprit. Make sure you ARE GETTING SPARK. Good grounds to the engine are super important too. Just tips.

    If the spark plugs are removed and you feel a "hard" spot while turning that isn't good at all. Rod is probably broken and valves are probably damaged. Time to pull the engine

    I'm reattaching my cylinder head and wanted to know if this is the correct sequence for tightening, and if it's okay to use shop towels and brake cleaner to clean the surface of the short block?You must be registered to see element.

    Eclipse tails are 100% a direct swap, 1Ga or 1Gb. 1Ga Talon tails are a direct swap.

    I did a compression test before we pulled the engine, I was seeing about 140PSI on all four cylinders, plus or minus about 3-5 psi

    Yeah I just got done using the boroscope and will send the pictures shortly but I did find out that when I rotate the engine it will get stuck at a certain point and when I rotate it the opposite direction a bit and go back it won’t be stuck...
