Hey guys!
I have a friend at school who has a used Subaru turbo (10K miles on the turbo) and a waste gate that he is willing to sell me for $150 flat. I would have to buy all the other parts if i decided to buy this turbo...this is where your opinions come in. Should i buy this turbo? He claims it will fit in my car regardless, but im not a turbo wiz, so i need advice//help :)

Thanks!

You can put almost any turbo on any car, But finding the exahust manifold to fit the turbo and your car, good luck. I don't know how big that subaru turbo is, but I'd say your better off just finding a stock 14B turbo for around the same price.

Not a bad price for a turbo. If you do want to boost your car and get this turbo you have to fuiger a few things out, whats the setting on the waste gate. Any more than 8 psi unintercooled is bad for you motor your egt will be high as hell. Second you need to find a place that you can get a maniflod flanges for that turbo. If I am not mistaken its a IHI RHB5 that comes on subys, its a t3 flange. After That you need to Find someone who can make you a manifold... along with a down pipe. After that if you need an intercooler you need to fab up some piping for it along with a charge pipe and a flange for the BOV. Then everything else is cakewalk. Its alot of work to do and I suggest taht you read over gsgoingfast write up before you decide to do anyhting.

ihi turbos are not t3 flanges. i had one. i looks the same but is a little smaller. it is kinda right between a t3 and a mit. flange. you can do better than this price for a t3 or mit turbo that will be much easier to match for a mani flange. i bought a new turbo, external wastegate, and bov for 350 off ebay. they are from ssautochrome( :notgood: ) but they have held togeather for almost a year now. the turbo is a t3 with a .43 ar. it spools 8 psi all the way to redline.
