I have been trying to get my car intune recently and I have a LM-1 Wideband and a MMCD Logging setup. My car is nothing too special typical B16g, 550's and a 255lph. I am getting perfect runs via wideband at 11.8 to 1 with around -8 in the High Throttle settings but I am getting like 30+ counts of Knock under full throttle. I have been running like this for a while and my motor is ok but I know I am loosing power because my timing is getting killed. I think it is phantom knock because it goes off at low throttle sometimes. But one thing i was wondering is, can my motor still be knocking for real if it is tuned perfectly via wideband?

Thanks,
Scott

11.8:1 might be to high for you. Tune it down to 11.0:1 and see how it acts there. Also what is your timing at?

Most place now are starting to get winter fuel crap, the fuel with the additives. But you cant usually run as lean on it as with "good" fuel.

Either turn the boost back a little, pull some timing, or richen it up.

Oh yeah, if you want to make sure its knock then add some race gas to see if it goes away.

Well when I was tuning to get the 11.8:1 I began at 11:1 because I had the High's all at 0. And it was still knocking. So I dont know what the deal is. Im gonna go out and try re-tuning it again to 11, also I am running 21 lbs. if that Matters.

Just because you have the A/F locked in a 11.8 or 11.4 etc doesn't mean that your not going to knock. So to answer your question, yes it can still knock. I'm assuming this is on pumpgas correct? I would be willing to be if you put in racegas the knock will go away. How much boost are you trying to run?
