I managed to get the boost gauge working, but Now I need to wire it up for lighting.

I read the Vfaq on wiring it to the dimmer switch and i'm a little confused about something.

I stripped back the insulation for the Green and white wire, and also the black with the yellow strip.

So do I get 2 seperate pieces of copper wire, 1 to wrap around the Green wire, then another to the black and yellow one, then connect it on the 12v connection on my boost gauge?

And then another copper wire to the ground side on my gauge and then find somewhere on my car to ground it?

(also should I disconnect my battery while doing this?)

I'll tell you how I did it, although it's a bit different and won't have the dimming feature, but honestly, I never use the dimmer. I just keep my lights as bright as they go, and the boost gauge light comes on when the headlights come on.

So, here's one way you can do it if you don't care about the dimming: Remove the driver's side kick panel. Find the wires to the light around the cigarette lighter. You can use a little electro-tap to tap in for the power on the power wire for this light.

Here's what an electro-tap more or less looks like, and they're available in most auto-parts stores:

For the ground, you can attach a ring terminal to the wire and ground the ring terminal to the chassis by attaching it to a screw that goes into the body. A trim panel screw down in the footwell should work, as long as it screws into metal.

Or you could do it the easy way and just run both wires to the plug that feeds the hvac control lights. Thats how I ran mine and works great. The plug is to the right of the strip that runs down the dash between the inst. cluster and the heater controls. just pop that strip off and the strip under the radio and take out the 5 screws the remove the center vent by prying the tabs and pulling it out the remove your knobs for the heater controls. Slipde the whole panel out a few inches and you will see like 4 connectors. The one with 2 wires near the bottom is the one you want. just splice into those and your good to go. It will dim also.

Do it this way. I did it like this and it works great. If you dont want to remove your panel just remove the center console its easier and less cramped.:talon:
