I have a dvd player head unit and a regular head unit, and i was just curious to hook them both up to receieve sound for the speakers i just splice the speakers wires and make them have 2 ends so both units can hook up... if so god damn this is gonna be fun :(

if the DVD player has 4 amplified speaker outputs, sell it and get one that doesn't.

if it has line level outputs (RCA's) then see if your head unit has line level inputs. most kenwoods, alpines and sony's do. some you have to buy an adapter that uses the cd-changer control for the line in.

if it doesn't, or you have XM, sirus or a cd changer, get an FM modulator that has RCA in's on it that you plug directly into your antenna on the back of your deck. you plug the actul car antenna into the FM Modulator so you can still use the radio.

hope i helped

If the deck has auxilary inputs, connect the dvd player to the deck using rca cables and run it with the auxiliary on the deck.

im not really understanding what your saying.. most dvd player units that dont play sound you just put in a amp if its a receiver also.. if its a indash dvd that needs to be hooked up to a receiver usally you just plug it up to the aux .... and the receiver should have controls for a aux channel or dvd player... if not i have no clue

oh shit thats a good idea ;) imma buy a diffrent one to hook up to the rca cables

wait... that wont work cause i have the stock infinite sound system argh... unless it has rca cables on it which i doubt it does.

I am going to be attempting to do a similar procedure with my setup. I understand the whole concept about using the main deck auxiliary inputs to connect the DVD player, however, where does the power source come into play for the DVD player? Isn't the power cable held within the wiring harness (which should already be connected to the main deck)? Any insight would help. Thanks
