Hello everyone. My motor is currently out of the car since I am doing maintenance on the car. My motor is on the stand upside down with the oil pan, crank, and main caps out of the motor. Unfortunately I am unable to finish the car since I am yet to find a good condition used crank. My question is.... it's starting to get cold outside and everything is in my garage. I dont think I will get it done within the next month or two. What should I do to make sure the motor doesnt rust internally due to moisture from getting cold. How about when I get the motor put back together but not running, any precautions I should take? Everything that is exposed that might not have any oil left on the surface I was thinking about spraying with wd40, is this a bad idea? Would there be any reason for me to have to take the motor apart completely to take off the wd40 off the parts and motor once I get all the parts I need to put it back together? Thanks.
