Will this setup be alright?

This is what i currently have on my car:

14b ported
upgraded smic
maft draw through setup
2.5" catback

This is what i want to add:

550's
stage 1 chip from dsmchips.com

Is this setup ok? I'm mostly worried about the fuel system. Can I run the 550's without an aftermarket fuel pump?

Hmm, I would add a fuel pump or at least re-wire the stocker.

You can get a 3000GT VR4 fuel pump which is 190lph for about 60 bucks on www.3si.org in the parts wanted section. Try that.

is that everything looks good for your current mods. If you wanted to get 550's and a dsmchip....it would probably be ok if you stayed with a low (like stock boost setting) nothing over 18 psi.

You should look at getting 550's like this.

I am upgrading my car.

The turbo system,

The Exhaust system,

The Fuel system,

The Ignition system,

And the suspension.

You will get more from your performance if you buy things as you can afford them until you get to your performance Goal.

There's alot of priorities I know. But to me my Saftey and car's safety at each mod point is #1.

I don't want to do any UnNecessary har, to my car so.

If I were at your situation I would buy the 3000 GT pump for a steal and save up a little more and get the 550s.

Good luck.

Exactly what I wanted to hear guys.

As soon as spring comes around, there going in.

Are injectors easy to install? It seems like they arent too bad, but I've never replaced mine, so I would like to know the difficulty.

Thanks

Put the turbo swap at a difficulty of a 3.

So injectors are nearly like 4g63 spark plugs and wires.

Monkey Simple.

1. Disconnect battery.

2. Pull fuel pump harness ( access panel under passenger rear seat)

3. crank car and run excess fuel out (till car dies)

4. Move throttle cable and cruise control cable.

5. remove fuel rail feed.

6. remove return line from fuel rail.

7. remove pcv hose from valve cover

8. loosen and remove three fuel rail bolts and keep

9. remove individual fuel injector harnesses *be as nice to the clips as possible but if you break one don't cry:cry: its ok.

10. gently lift the fuel rail and injectors off the intake trying to keep all the fuel injectors connected to the rail ( or if you leave one sitting in the rail...hey thats ok too.

11. Put new injectors in rail with new o-rings and a small dab of assmebly grease smeared around the o-rings.

12. Reverse for assembly.

Then. Turn the key to the run position for a few sseconds. Try to start it.

It may not start the first time but its OK. Give it a few seconds and try again.

Make sure you set your SAFC for intial settings.

If it doesn't start walk back through what you did.

*did you reconnect your fuel pump harness???

Good luck....its gravy. Need any further assistance print what ever you find on VFAQ on the subject.
