Wierd starting problem

I have been having this starting problem that just started happening. I was driving around the other day and turned the car off and started it many times without a problem. Then i park my car and go to start it and everything has power and i turn it to start and everything shuts off and my battery has no juice
Battery was checked at autozone and is good
starter was checked and is good
So i tow it home and charge the battery and the starter will not engage no clicking from the solenoid but the fuel pump is turning on.
Today i go to start it with like 12.5 volts and it starts fine and my alternator is charging the battery. I pull it in my garage and turn it off and try to start it with good volts and everything turns off and my battery is dead. Is this caused by a short?

id say a short or a relay going bad. try to find a starter relay. ill check my 1g book and get back to you.

Ok I just replaced the power cable that was going to the starter. Now when it gets hot the battery doesn't just die anymore but all i get is the mpi relay click once every time i try to start it . I went to checkers and they told me my battery or alternator is bad and my alternator relay was really hot. Is it just the relay
Ill get the alternator checked tomarrow

ok I got the alternator tested and it is good.
