calgary,
I have to install my wideband o2 sensor bung, where would the best place to mount it, and how far away from the turbo should it be?

:talon:

I mounted mine just before the bend on the downpipe and angled to about 9 to 10 o'clock (as viewed from the front of the car). It is a little close to the turbo but I think it will be fine. I have heard stories of people replacing the front O2 with a WB and had success with it lasting in that location, and mine is mounted a foot and a half or so farther down. Also the location made it extremely ease to reach the sensor for removal or recalibration (LC-1 recommended to be recalibrated every 6 months).

Also, just make sure if you mount it on a horizontal pipe section (versus the verticle like I did) that it is between 10 and 2 o'clock (i.e. top of the pipe). This will help to stop condensation, oil, particles from accumulating on the sensor.

Most manufacturers give a recommend length after the turbo but atleast 36" seems to bve common. I mounted mine about half way between the flex section & cat. Like Splitpi said, make sure to mount it above the 9-3 position.

I have MR downpipe(cat bypass) and n1 clone ebay exhaust. Just have rear o2 sesnsor zip tied under the car and not plugged in and no light so far. The exhaust has a place for the o2 sensor, so would i be able to put the wideband there? I know its a bit further back then normal, but with no cat it shouldnt affect the readings?

Thanks

As long as you have no cat, you should be fine in that rear O2 location. Its heat that kills the WB sensor & they have their own onboard heater circuit so you don't have to worry about placing it too far away :thumb:
