i installed the BR UICP and a EGR valve blockoff yesterday, and now i have a boost surge.it happens when i am boosting and let off the gas,the cars jerks forward.i checked for leaks and made sure everything was tight.i had to adjust my idle, but i guess thats common with a UICP install. why am i getting a surge like this? someone please help.....

on a side note the car pulls ALOT harder now and the blockoff cured my 'hot start' problem

Do you mean the boost surges after you let off the throttle? Do you actually see it on your boost gauge?

maybe its not a boost surge,i dont see it on the gauge. after i let off the gas the car jerks.if i shift fast enough it wont do it,only does when i shift normal.it the same as when you vent your BOV...sorry if i was misleading...hopefully someone can help..i have been searching for hours i havent read anything wrong with blocking off your EGR as well with installing a UICP..

Does it back fires? Soud like you have boost leak which would make your car run rich. Did you do a real boost leak test or just a visual one?

If your venting back into the intake, then it sounds like your BOV may need to be readjusted, more than likely its probably to tight. Loosen upthe screw/nut, readjust and take the car for a drive. You should be fine. If the BOV is venting to the atmosphere, well thier's another problem.

my car doesnt backfire.and one other thing i noticed,my a/f gauge doesnt fluctuate as much.it mostly stays on the rich side until i let off or if i'm lightly on the gas cruising...it used move back and forth alot more before. i'll try to do a boost leak tomorrow....
one other question. is it normal to hear the boost pressure ALOT with solid pipes? i dont see any loss in psi on my guage.was at 10 psi before and after.
