I would like to use this for my 1g, but the maf wont fit inside of the filter. The adapter gets in the way too.

I made this adapter just to see if it would work. I tried it, but it didn't really work like I thought it would. The car started up fine, but then it started hesitating and it shut down. I heard a shh sound everytime the car turned off. What could be wrong there? Let me know what you guys think. TIA.

I made my own, I get that whoosh noise when i turn my car off to LOL. Prolly motor exhaling :) I got some lopey idle from this mod but all is well, I need to build a heat shield pretty bad. Yours looks like it will work fine

I built my own to. Well ive actually made my own about 3 times. My current one is just like Mike1992's. Cept mine is a little further pushed into the side. I dont have any idle problems or a whoosh sound?? Mine works great. It looks like your filter set-up should work fine as long as u have the right piping running it way over to the side so it picks up the most cold air it can.

i have custom intake too.

just used a 3inch rubber pipe attacher with 2 metal hose clamps around it from home depot. cost ne 3.50$ for the rubber link and 49$ for the k&n. im looking to use aluminum puping, or some thick black pvc instead of the hose. i just need some more flexable rubber connectors. kinda like the ones that come with AEM or other *real* intakes, if i can find them things.
