pretty soon im going to rebuild my 420a motor. i told my brother i going to rebuild my motor and he say throw the turbo in it already. I think in my opinion, turbo is not the first thing to buy when im rebuilding my motor. What the first time would u buy or what step by step what u buy to rebuild the motor??

You are right, a turbo is definitely not the first thing to buy when rebuilding a motor. The 420A isn't really that much of a motor to be tubocharging anyways. Mostly the only people who bother to turbocharge them do it to prove a point that it can be done or something. The 4g63t is the true turbo motor. If you really want power swap one of those in. But if you don't have that kind of cash, start simple. Buy a nice cold air intake, header, exhaust, cams, etc etc basically start out with bolt-ons and go from there

yes your are right. my brother say it not worth it to swap it to 4g63t because it will cost alot of money. Also 420a is for fwd and 4g63t is awd so if i swap it to 4g63t, i have to make my car awd and spend alot of money. I heard 2g motor is easy break down because of "crankwalk". i did not like to hear that because i want to last long time with my expensitive 420a motor. i heard 1g motor last longer and it faster. i was thinking about swap it to 1g motor but i know it going to be not worth it like just like swap to 4g63t because it going to be alot of money. Well i guess, im going to rebuild my 420a motor real good and try beat most honda. Tell me if im wrong or is there any comment u want to tell e before i start rebuild it

im so idiot. i forgot all about that 4g63t is fwd. but let make this simple. if i swap to 4g63t, there be no problem right? or spend more money to make it fit?

ive thought about doin that swap before but then reality kicks in that it was made to be the gas saver of the eclipses meaning i spent ten grand on go fast parts back when i had the nturbo rs model when i coulda jus spent another 2k and got a gst but to answer it is possible but it mostly for show when someone does it

so what u want me to do? i mean what the best way to rebuild it? should i engine sway or stay 420a n rebuild it?

I would just rebuild the 420a. If you want to turbo it later on that's fine or just buy a gst/gsx. Swapping the 4g63 in to your car would be a pain because the motor mounts are in different places so you would need to do some custom work. You would also need a new wire harness, ecu and tranny to name the bigger ones. So just rebuild the 420a at this point!

okay i will stay with 420a and rebuild it. after i rebuild it im going to throw turbo in it. sound good? is it fast enough to beat most honda right?

Well if you plan on turboing it you should build up the motor a bit so it can hold some sizeable boost. The 420a cant hold a ton of boost on just a stock rebuild. Look in to the 420a tech forums and you will find much more info on the steps for turboing it, there have been plenty of people that have done it and can help you with it!

Im thinking cutting the spring to lower the car down. it free right to do it or i should buy shock with spring?...well im thinking cut the spring then when i get the money then i buy the shock with springs:hellyeah:

I would NOT cut the springs or heat them up to change the height. The ride of the car will be horrible. your better off getting ebay springs for like 40$ than doing that, but I wouldnt suggest that either. Save your money and get a good set the first time.

im back. pretty soon im going to order spring to lower my car. But how much inches to make nice look? not tooo low and not too much gap
