Which one of these subs should I get?

Ok im stuck bewteen these two subs. 15" kicker l7 or the new 15" Rockford power stage 1. Im going to be ethier running a kicker kx1200.1 or a rockford power 10001bd amp all depending on which sub I decide on. I have always had good luck with rf but kinda wana try these new square subs so any help is appreciated

Head over to an audio store (like tweeters) they might have both plugged in for your enjoyment. Then go from there

Quite honestly I have always thought Rockford Fosgate was over-priced, Crutchfield boasted, average products. I've been out of car audio for a couple of years now, but I formed that opinion back in the day. Plus, I used to have a set of (2) 12" Kicker Comp VRs along with a good friend who ran (1) 12" L7. Both setups would have no problem making your eardrums vibrate with quality sound. If I ever get back into car audio, I know I am going to check out Diamond Audio and Treo Audio Engineering as they both look to be superb companies with an excellent product line.

Im prob gona go the rf route because they have always been good to me in the past and im real curious to try out this new sub the thing it freaken huge. My friend has 2 12" rf that are a stage or two under the ones that im getting. He has a 800 watt amp hooked to them and its prob 1 of the loudest systems i have heard.

I always thought in a hatch like our cars it was best to face the sub at the glass but was recently told to face it towards the back of the car?

I can tell you now, Rockford is nothing like it used to be. The L7 will be MUCH better then the RF P-1's, hands down.

please dont buy the P1's the p3's arent that great so I know the P1's wont be, there is no comparison between the L7 and RF. I would go with Kicker or Kove audio...my subs

i'm using 3 kicker solo barrick L7's 12's they're awsome subs, i've been threw a 2 JL w7's and 2 audiobahn flame 1200 Q's and these are the best sub's i've owned by far i highly recommend them

You like them better then w7s that is speaking very highly of them. What kind of enclosure are you running? and how many watts do they like. I plan on feeding 1 15" 1000-1200watts. It seems like everybody is telling me to go kicker I just can not get over that tiny magnet. I starting to lean more and more towards then.

Ill take the L7s everyday of the year. My friend has 2 12s in his IS300. WOW they are some of the best subs out there and ive heard a lot of different subs.

Guess you've never heard a W7 or a IDMAXX. Look online and buy an Image Dynamic IDQ d2 V.3 I got mine for 98 a peice and they are the Cleanest hitting subs I've heard. RF is a Best Buy Company and Kicker is a Circuit City company...Overpriced garbage Basically. Look into some brands noone really hears to much about.

IMO You get what you pay for so pay for soemthing nice. Don't get me wrong you'll have bass but it will be sloppy and punchy...if thats what you want go for it. Most peopel liek crisp and Clean.

Unless Kicker's policies have changed, no Kicker product purchased online carries a valid warranty with it.

Just because a sub can hit 130-140 dB in a specific vehicle with a specific box does not mean that those results can be duplicated in another vehicle, unless they are identical vehicles.

I would never purchase a sub thats not a circle... for the fact of the matter is that square subs don't have the same pressure all the way around such as a round sub. The four corners have less pressure behind them and they can tear really easy. Also the l7 isn't clear sound if you just want the same frequency over and over you go ahead and buy them. Clear sound doesn't work well at all with the square subs. Although people use them for competitions cause it can hit that one low frequency that comps like to read on the meter... if you actually want crystal clear quality i would definitely not get the kicker. and get an amp with really low Total harmonic Distortion (thd).. so you can have clean power too.
