What's your reason for not getting a turbo back?

turbo-back is one of the choices, it would just be 2.5in not 3in. But to awsner your question, the choice of exhaust. VRS is the only turbo-back exhaust that I have found for the GST. I would like to see GReddy make a turbo-back Ti-C. If that makes sense ROFL. I can not delete the cat due to emissions. So what setup can I do with the GReddy exhaust to make it turbo-back and keep the cat?

Better to go turbo-back with a solid size instead of switching diameters halfway down your exhaust.

what is a "solid size" then 2.5 or 3in? I know that 3in performes better, but which one is more "solid"? And you are right I do not want to switch sizes half way down. Is there a 3in downpipe that does not delete the cat? Due to emissions for the state.

Thanks for your comments :thumb:

Why would the turbo-back be a 2.5" instead of a 3"? If you go with a 3" unit, that's one less thing you would have to upgrade if, later on down the line, you want to make more power on a bigger turbo. :talon:

I think he ment to just stick with one size all the way threw instead of changing the diamiter throught the exhaust.

Ok I see what he is saying thanks

You are right, I definity would like to get the 3in, but I just cant afford $800+tax+shipping for and exhaust right now. Is there a 3in downpipe that does NOT delete the cat (due to emissions for the state)?

Talk to your local exhaust shop. Some of them can put together a nice exhaust out of mandrel bent stainless steel for a good price. Then you can get you choice of muffler and a 3" cat and be set.

The exhaust on my car is a custom 3" stainless steel turbo back with a high-flow cat. It's slip fit, so no rusty bolts to try getting apart (stainless steel clamps). I bought it used from a member on here for $250. It has a nice deep sound and flows great. Deep, meaty tone when you get on the gas, but quiet while cruising down the highway.

I was just saying that you want to keep it all a single tube size and it's better to just spend the money once. Like someone above said check out a local shop. They can and will work for you. It's your money and that means their life, you know what I mean. Just meant to say that if you get one you might as well get the 3in turbo-back with cat by getting a custom exhaust. Often times you can watch them do it and know they are doing it right all while knowing you got EXACTLY what you wanted for a decent price. Sorry for not really explaining my first post.

I would go 3" Thermal R&D, 3" down pipe w/ high flow cat....RRE has the down pipe w/ cat

Can the down pipe and cat from RRE fit with the GReddy exhaust?

+1 for Thermal, they sound great! I have a full 3'' on my car with a downpipe.

Can you make a sound clip of your car at idle and doing a driveby please?
Can you also post some pics?

Anybody else agree that exhaust sounds like DSM heaven? :D

I Have a PIT Catback, its made by Dee-Zee, and its amazing, fit is awsome, and was 150 on ebay. Bolted right to the Cat, before I had a downpipe. But looks and sounds amazing.

Good point my friend? Why havn't you considered N1? I have it on my car and it sound great... It great price too. That white Clipse sounds good, especially when it backfires,LOL..It was just a hickup anyways..

^Hell yeah, i'm definitely buying that exhaust when my car gets up and running again! I saw the prices too, great quality exhaust for a decent price! I can't get tired of that youtube video either, that exhaust is just crazy. That is the best sounding exhaust I ever heard out of any 4 cylinder car in my opinion and I think many people can back that up! OMG

That would instantly destroy any ricer fart can/lawnmower exhaust in it's path! LOL

^Ive owned 2 2g dsm's and 1g and my current dsm is the only one I have ever had catback exhaust and it sounds pretty damn good..I cant wait till I finally put my Megan DP on and see how that sounds? Probably sounds even better since it deletes the cats? When I get my tranny put back together and my 20g on(when I get it soon) ill get it all together and post some sound clips for all of ya's..I wanna try out this o2 housing with the open dump tube also??
