Which do people like better Talon's or Eclipse's

More people post how they like the Talon more, but the Clipse is leading in the poll?


I agree with you, Norb85... Everywhere I look, I see 2G Eclipse RS's... with fart cans and washer LEDs. Gimmie a break. I've seen 1000's of Hondas with the same tricks... Talon owners seem to be a wee bit more RICE-FREE then Eclipse owners...


Best looking of the line? 1G Talon with the pop-ups, black over white with the spoiler that comes ALL the the way down the side to wrap around the side mirrors...

For 2G? Definitely the Talon, with a Clipse front end... I think that most 2G Eclipses look like girl cars... And you dont NEED to put a ground kit on a 1G to make it look good... OR a huge ass spoiler.

Tho they internally all look the same. the exterior is a completely different story.....I never liked the way the Talons looked, and I never will. As for Eagle coming back with somethign eventually, yeah.....maybe when we have the 3rd George Bush as our president maybe.....

I prefer talons over everything else. Mainly because I hate how Mitsubishi stopped making the 3000gt and took the looks of the last year (2000) and used it for the 3g eclipses. So now I hold a grudge .

The nicest 1g Talon factory paint-job was on ebaymotors with a car that was all black with silver trim. It was such a beauty that I almost wished that my car looked like it instead of silver/black.

Also if you think about it, the whole girly issue of the eclipse could stem from the name itself. Both Talon and Laser have the annunciation on the first syllabol where eclipse is on the second (e-clipse' compared to tal'-on and la'-ser.) But I donno, I'm not a psych major; I'm a comp. sci. major .

Quoting my own post, I just bought another 1G and it's a Talon. Although it's not the white and black that I wanted. Overall though, the 2G Eclipse is just too clean looking to be beat!

the biggest difference is the tail lights and the front on 97+. oh no.

the biggest thing i hate is people like this (you may just be kidding, but its still the same)who think talon taillights look funny or since the company is gone they suck. if talons suck for any reason other than the tail lights and front bumper, then so do the eclipses.

sorry this is getting long, but its coming out of frustration from eclipse owners who say things like. "you shoulda gotten an eclipse" yeah well if i wanted to pay that much more for a gsx and have different tails i would have, but i don't. i would never get an eclipse mind you. i think they are too linked to shitty body kits, side skirts with wholes that do nothing and the honda crowd whereas.......talons i see mostly don't have "ricer" shit like that

eclipse = sticker bin at pep boys
talons = the car its supposed to be, and usualy not riced.

its nothing agaist you personally at all, or the joke (as you'll notice i did say i recognized its in jest.) its just that it seems to be going that most eclipse owners are looking down on the talons becasue the cmpanies gone. Maybe its just my experience with eclipse owners who are most likely not board members, but its just so annoying. you know the famous "eclipses are damn fast but those talons and lasers are slooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww"

I think the guy who started this thread just wanted to know what everyone liked, not why the others suck. I've owned an Eclipse, Laser, and Talon. There has been absolutley 0 difference in anything besides body style. We all share a common interest, it's sad that we have to bring each other down.

i also think its stupid. im not saying there is anything wrong with the eclipse. It just seems to me that because there are more of them, you see more riced ones (as with hondas etc) and becasue they are more well known (people who don't research the car before they buy, don't know about talons, so they take an eclipse). I don't think anyone on any dsm message board would ever say a talon is slow but an eclipse is fast. its just the idiots the get to me. sorry i got crazy. i respect every dsm that isn't trashed with rice, and give props whenever i can.

personally, to more specifically answer the thread - i like the talon better becasue its less known and i actually like the taillights and not being in teh norm. I think the 1g and 2g talon in black are best as well as the 2g eclipse is silver.

1g talons rule, the lasers look stripped down (because most [not all] of them dont have spoilers or rims [they have the ghetto plastic hubs]) 1g Eclipses look ok, but talons look better.
95-96 Talon fronts look better than the eclipses, Both look like they are smiling at you, but the Eclipse looks like its wearing braces.
I used to not like the butt on the talon, theyve grown on me though, like the WRX headlights have.
97+ The Talon looks better than the eclipse when it has the right color. I like black ones (maybe thats cuz my car is black) Silver, gray, and white look good too. The Eclipse looks good in almost every color, so its pretty much a toss up.

Ya, I would have to agree with Leitnin, 1G and 2G black Talons are the best. I choose my car b/c i love the body style of the Talon. I had a 93 Eclipse and i hated it. It was fugly. My car just looks so much meaner being black. I love it

I like any and all DSMs, but generally my preference is something like this:

90-91 DSMs look okay, but I don't like the pop-ups or the taillights on any of them as much as the 92-94s. I really love the 1Gb Laser Tailights (like on my car ), especially when they are lit up at night, but I think the 1Gb Talon rear end is killer. Of all 1Gs, I think Talons look the best.

For 2Gs it's a little harder for me to decide. I guess I would have to say that a 95-96 Eclipse looks better than a Talon all around, becuase I don't like 2Ga Talon spoiler, and I really don't like either of the front bumpers. But With the 97+ DSMs, the Talon front is good, the elcipse front is better, and both spoilers are best.

I guess in the end I would have to vote for Talon since they are less recognized and less common.

I prefered my laser i used to own over my car now. becuase compared to how many people own it. id say 3/4 of people dont even know what a plymouth laser is. and the turbo side skirts to a laser were dope. it was all unique. the only other laser around wher ei live didnt have no side skrits or spoiler or turbo or nothing phat. now i got my 95 nt talon, its a hell of alot nicer but slow n there are alot driving round here, but hhey oh well. catch yall later.

90-91 Can go either way i guess
92-94 Talon better body kit
95-96 Talon front end looks better,but that Talon rear wing has to go
97-98 Like the Talon front bumper,but the Eagle engraved in it does make it look odd..If it were filled in somehow with body filler or something and smoothened out and painted it would look perfect.Also the new Talon wing looks nice,but i like the eclipse turbo wing too at some angles.Only thing about Eclipses is thier way too common and they've really been played out because of Fast and Furious.Some of the kits and wings look too weird.But if kept clean lookin with not too aggressive kits they look badass.

The talon is dead,but in 2000 didnt the eclipse kinda die in a way too?Yeah Eclipses are still made but this new bodystyle is hidious and no longer is there a 4 cyl turbo.Who wants a V6 Eclipse GT FWD?Mitsubishi is killing the Eclipse off themselves.

But to stay a little more on the topic Talons do look a little more like a sports car.They seem to have a lower stance somehow but this is only my oppinion so dont take it too much of what i said to heart.
