Where to go from here...

Alright guys i already know some of you are thinking it's up to you, I know this, but i would like to hear more then my voice on this to see what other guys are thinking(BTW THIS IS A FWD AUTO). I'm trying to make around 350-380Whp from my car. My ideas are getting link or, timing job headgasket studs springs, and retainers, cams(havent 100% choose a set) getting a valve job, and resurfacing the head, and all that good stuff(reason this idea is bigger then link is, because i would rather do all that at once since im already there). Another option i was thinking was doing the exhaust, and the cold air intake.

Just so you know i just recently did the timing, and all that, but with a cheap autozone belt i was thinking of using a Gates kevlar TB this time. I have seen the tech guide i have talked to some friends on where to go, but i just want to ask you guys who have helped me get my car to where it is today. Btw just got the car running like brand new minus the minor oil leak, and water pipe oring that is leaking a little bit, nothing massive just need to get a new 1g water pipe, and I'm going to do a 90's oil filter housing with a cooler, because I beleave i found the oil filter housing leaking today.

Maintenance first, then tuning, THEN follow the UPGRADE PATH.

Well i have done all the maintenance . Just got the car running again today after 6 months found a couple little leaks ordering a new water pipe tomorrow today was sunday everyone is closed. As for the oil leak i have the gasket for the oil filter housing, just would prefer to use the 90 oil filter housing if i have to go through the trouble of pullin the oil filter housing already have the housing just need a cooler which again it's sunday i cant order one. Also regardless of the leaks i drove it 100 miles today tuned with my SAFC, and wideband it's running like it stole something.

I also broke the bolt for the front motor mount today lost it somewhere on the road. Looking for what size bolt goes in there now since i dont have to base it off of now.

Do you have an eprom ecu? If not expect to pay another $150-200 on top of the cost of link or any tuning for that matter.

If you want to build the head and tune you could go with Dsmap instead. The new version only runs $20. They've been tuning with speed density for years now. Very capable software designed for the 1g dsm's.

Do you have an eprom ecu? If not expect to pay another $150-200 on top of the cost of link or any tuning for that matter.

If you want to build the head and tune you could go with Dsmap instead. The new version only runs $20. They've been tuning with speed density for years now. Very capable software designed for the 1g dsm's.

Haha, thats a good movie. Really I just like to throw it out there for the 1g guys. Most new people havent heard of it. Might save him enough to finish his top end. There are like 50 1g tuning threads a day. I need to make up a copy paste answer .

I just mentioned this in another recent thread but, tunerpro and chip reflash/burn are some other tuning options for 1g's that will save a few bucks. Link and Jackal do the same thing no sense in spending 30x more for the same thing. Just my $.2

Very true. People should at least try the DS MAP software to see if they like it before spending the money on link. I kind of wish i would have tried it.

But I love ECMLink , so easy.

In that case. Check the classifieds for some parts you would feel comfortable buying used, there are some awesome deals on there. I just scored some FIC 750's for $150 . DS-MAP would be another good route to go if you are looking to save some cash.

Don't waste your money on an oil cooler and 90 OFH. Just buy a Mighty Max OFH and call it a day.

Well i was planning on getting link, and i i thought knocking some temp off my car would be a good thing when i started getting more seriouse with the tuning. That why i also removed my A/C that way the coolant didnt have to run through that too, or do i have this theory all wrong?
