what's wrong with Greddy BOV?

OK... I just swapped my 1g bov out for a GReddy Type-S. I left the lower nipple open and I didn't touch the soft or hard setting at all. The car over all seems alot more stronger and responsive, but between shifts I hear the normal sound of psssh, and a little whistle sound, but I'm also hearing this real quick chirp sound at the same time. Do you guys think this sound would be compressor surge. I'm just not to sure what compressor surge sounds like. Can anybody give some sort of an idea?

Thanks! I'm guessing that I'm ok then. I definitly don't hear a chh chh chh sound. Actually the sound I'm hearing sounds cool and is a little different than the 1g bov, but I'm more into performance than sound so I just want to make sure the GReddy is performing right. Thanks again!!

Just curious.. does anyone else on here besides me that has a GReddy Type-S bov make a loud chirp type sound in between shifts? I'm currently running about 21 psi on my FP Big28, so the bov is set on the hard side. If so, is this a normal or common sound with these bov's?

Just FYI. I got a Type-S running 16psi of boost with the lower nipple unplugged. Boost holds up until about 5500rpm (typical t-25), no stuttering, no chirping and the whisttle sound difference between shifting at 3500rpm and 6000rpm is just that it's louder. I'm getting a feeling that most are either not adjusted correctly or just plain defective. Correct me if I'm wrong but, if you have it stuttering and you adjust it all the way to soft and still have it stutter (ch cha) then the BOV is not working properly.

My type-s holds boost perfectly fine with my Big28 at 21 psi. I do get a whistle sound when the bov is more soft but I have mine set on the hard side. I just don't want to get this chirp type sound, which sounds pretty cool I might add, mixed up with the sound of compressor surge. I mean is (ch cha) the same sound as chirp LOL?

i have the fluttering sound only if im driving slow like shifting at 3500, at half throttle. but when im on it it makes the nice chirp. is that normal? oh and also how much boost can a t25 handle and still be reliable. im runnin 15psi on stock fuel pump and injectors, when will i hit fuel cut?

So after reading all this in this post I still have a Q:

Mine is totally ok at 90% of the time I drive..I get a nice sound..it performcs like I want it to and all...BUT..... When I am cruising at say 4000RPM in fifth(could be any gear really) and let of just a little bit on the gas..the car stutters and makes a ccchh cccchhh ccchhh sound(surge?) This only happens when I lift gently on the gas...If I let go all at once then nothing..just a regular blow sound....How come this happens? Leaks? Could it do this if its not sealed properly?

do not plug the bottom nipple on the type s. my buddy did it and got nothing but major fluttering. if u put your hand under it when it blows off, u will feel air come out of it. just leave it unhooked and unplugged. :dsm: and mine is fine. get it adjusted right and leave it or it will strip out on you. hapened to me and i had to retap it.
