What's with the "engine support fixture" price?

The guy told me that #C-4852 or #7137(from vfaq) was upgraded to some other part number and the price is $1g and some change. I could have sworn I called for a price on this a few months ago and it was like under $100. Anyone know where I can get one of these at a decent price? If the office is right I'd prefer the tool than a jack under my oil pan. Thanks

Use a block of wood?

Use a section of 2x4 and a jack. As long as you spread out the weight you wont hurt the oil pan, same principle as lying on a bed of nails, laying one nail and it goes right through you, lay on hundreds and it doesn't hurt a bit.

No, I know it can be made to work but also it would be nice to have that space free that the jack would take up for when working under there. Thanks anyway. Perhaps if I search enough I could find a used one. There should be one out there somewhere... in some dude's garage to never be used again who's right across the internet in a nearby forum discussing gardening tips and has no idea how bad I want give him money for his useless engine support fixture. Darnet.

Or make one with a 4x4 peice of wood that spans the bay and use straps to raise and lower the engine
