Well I bought a FMIC last month, and after hassling the seller for a week to send it, he finally does, and when he describes the core to be 24 x 9 x 3, it is infact 22 x 6 x 2 1/4.. That really pissed me off.. getting something other than what was described.. so I figured its just one moron and I'm sure my next experience will be better.

I payed for a "color screen visor pocketlogger kit" 2 weeks ago which was supposed to include:
Color screen visor
OBD 2 Cable
Leather Case
USB Hotsync Cradle w/software
Pocketlogger software

I actually got:
Crummy old black & white visor (dead batteries)
OBDI Cable
Leather Case
NO Hotsync or software
No pocketlogger software

I am really getting sick of these IDIOTS selling on trader, saying things that really arent what was described, and think ME, the BUYER, isnt going to raise hell over it. I filed a report with paypal and should be getting my money back in a week or two. but my god, if you are going to be as stupid as these people, save yourself and myself the time, and just dont list your items.

That's why I buy everything new now. Only 1 thing on my car is used, and that's the SAFC2. Other then that, I buy everything brand new, and only from respectable shops as well. You never know how that person before you treated it, and you never know if they're telling the truth or just lying. I've been lucky, and only been screwed once on parts, and that was by a certain shop that seems to be screwing everyone now. But I've heard enough of these stories from people that I don't even go onto DSM Trader anymore. I have a select few shops that I stick with and buy stuff through.

This is why you ALWAYS pay with paypal when shopping online. That way when you get screwed you can file a complaint and get your money back.

not necessarily.... I got screwed on a transaction for about $50 and they were only able to refund me like $3....

That's why if I buy used, I buy local. You can get a look at whatever you're buying and get a feel for the seller...

Not always true, I got beat for gauges threw paypal. I bought gauges off a guy on the trader and he never sent. Lost 65 dollars to him and paypal said they couldn't do anything after filing a complaint. Best bet to buy something used is off of ebay because there is feedback and paypal is a part of ebay. You enter a legal binding agreement on ebay. On the trader you're just trusting someone to send.

PayPal sucks when it comes to getting your money back for items that aren't as described. Try to find a way to use your credit card. Most credit card companies will refund your money if you return the merchandise, or for big ticket items use an escrow service.

If you never received an item PayPal should return your money, thats one of the few instances where they'll help you out.

I have never been screwed on the trader. The one reason why is becasue I do my homework. I have a feeling that most guys just see the ad and hope it all goes well. I ask the person there real name, what is a good phone number to reach them at, I call it at a random time to see if the person answers or if I get a machine with the same name, I have pictures taken of the product, then I have them write out a stupid sentence on a piece of paper and email a pic with the part and that sentence, I also ask what boards they are on and what there name is on that board, I go check out those boards and see what kind of person they are, then fianlly I check the vendors sites to see if they are on there. Once that has all been done then I will consider buying fromt hem. The other part of the problem is that some people just have to have a part. Even though the person seems shady they will continue becasue they "really need this part". If it is shady then walk away. It is well know that doing any business over the net is risky, so quit complaining and just cover your own ass when buying.

you go through to much trouble. it sounds like you stalk them! but if its a really good deal then i guess I would stalk them to. Most of the time you can sense if a deal is almost to good to be true.

I would rahter go through a bit of trouble then post here saying I got scammed. I work for my money and there is no way I am letting some scam artist take it from me.
