London,
Im looking for purformance so what would be better a APEXI N1 CARBONFiber or the stock one thats on it? or does it make a hp differnce
Brad :)

Following the tuning guide would be a great idea, but to answer your question, any aftermarket exhaust/downpipe combination will help relieve backpressure which therefore frees up horsepower. Unless you have a monster turbo and are pushing 9's or 10's in the 1/4, 3" will more than suffice. Take a look at the tuning guide as Eric recommended and you'll find links to a number of vendors.

Hope that helps,

Andy

I should have elaborated more but I get carried away sometimes and figured that would get him started. I would like to suggest reading, reading, and reading more. There is alot of information on this website (as well as many others) just waiting to be absorbed. If you have any more questions we are always here.

Don't worry about it Eric. You pointed someone new in the right direction and that's a good start.

Thanks for helping us out!

Yeah, I have been hitting the forums up pretty hard latley. I have been on here for a while and have picked up alot along the way. I see alot of people on here that need information and alot of the time people point them in the wrong direction. I have been trying to contribute as much as possibly latley and look forward to doing it more.

Installing new exhaust is fairly simple. Once you remove the super rusted stocker, putting on the new stuff is cake. Just make sure you have plenty of penetrating lube and some patience. It would be a good expierence for you if you have never worked on a car before. It will give you a nice dose of confidence for the next install.

it is really easy to change the exhuast. just unbolt the muffler(axleback peace) from the midpipe(cat to axleback).thats for a cat back exhuast. then unbolt the downpipe from the the O2 housing and pull it all of by taking the hangers out of the rubber things. then installation is the reverse. Thats how easy it is.

Hopefully someone will see this, but I don't think it needs it's own thread:

What are the power differences between a 3" and a 2.5"? Obviously 3" will relieve more pressure, but do you really need over 2.5" if you only plan to go to ~300hp?

A 3 inch exhuast doesnt just give you more performance it is also more efficient. even if you dont have 300 hp a 3 inch exhuast still be just as good as a 2.5 inch exhuast. Plus if you end up making 300 hp down the line you wont have to buy another exhuast system.
