I dont think im forgetting anything, but its possible. I had a friend tune the car with his wideband. Its running at 18 psi with an 11.5:1 AFR. I would like to run higher boost, but how much more can i go safely?

What will this car run at the track

We have a no bench racing rule here. Every motor is different. Take it to the track and find out firsthand.

I have every intention of taking it to the track the first day it opens, but isnt there some type of estimate that i could get so i know where i stand? And another question, the car seems to run fairly bad in hot weather. could that be tuning or what?

i think you will run a 10.9 at 155mph with a good launch. but if you get a bad launch it will be for sure a 10.5 at 160mph. i have seen people do way less with more parts....:thumb:

Hotter air = less dense = less oxygen per given volume. Same reason a hotter charge produces less power.

Again, a Wiseman has already pointed out the 'no bench racing' rule.
You find out what you'll run when you do it. After all... could be in Shepherd's own Talon, and run a 20-second quarter mile. There's no way to tell how well you drive, and so no way to guess what kind of time you'll pull off.

no way man, my friend with the same setup ran a 9.8 at 173, 18psi has way more topend than that, he will have a higher mph..... and his block is bored over .20, thats a HUGE difference :p ... that is as long as he's a good driver and his flux compacator is tuned properly...

havent you seen this thread too many times? :nono:
Go to the track and drive it, or race someone that you know runs X in the 1/4 and see around how much faster/slower you are if you want a guestimate at what you will run

exactly, think of what your goal is, 12's 11's or even 10's? go to the 1/4 times section of the page and look at the vehicle profiles of some of the guys hitting the numbers your looking for, take a look at their setup to see what you have on them or what theyve got on you , if its a close setup and your a decent driver you may pull off a similar time then them.

this is the best advice i can give to you without reinforcing the bench racing rule. or repeating it.

sorry i wasnt really sure what he would run but im POSITIVE he would at least run the time i said. i over herd some honda guys the other night saying they picked up 1 second in the 1/4 mile by putting on a big fancy wing for more downforce. im about to go buy a top of the line APC wing and try it out. ill make a how-to and a quick review when im done :sneaky:.

ok, i got the point, go bench racing! But whats the best way to tune my car. we used a wide band before, but would it be better to use a pocket logger? Also, i want to get some hks 272's, but i need to wait until the summer when i get more money. A friend offered me a set of 1g cams for $50. Will they be benifit me at all?

its not go bench racing... its NO bench racing... which is asking what your car will run in the 1/4 with X mods. Exactly what the title of this thread is.....

The best way to tune would be to use a logger to see if you are knocking and to see what kind of timing advance you are getting ALONG with the wideband to see your a/f ratios. Put those together, (preforably on a dyno) with some tuning knowlege and skills, and you can get a good tune for your car. Then take it to the track, bring your logger, because conditions might change, run it and log your runs so you know what is going on with your car. '
