what type of logger?

i have a quick question ... i recently bought a 1999 (2g) gst, with a 1 gen motor> now im ordering a pockeet logger... and im not sure rather or not to get the dsm one or the ob11... so basically im asking is what will my car connect to, the ob11 or the dsm connector thanks for the input

It doesn't matter what engine you have in there, just that the Datalogger matches the ECU Type. All 1995-1999 DSMs ECUs are OBDII, all 1989-1994 DSM ECUs are OBDI

Its OBDII John, not ODBII, but I know its just a typo.

OBD stands for On Board Diagnostics.

Correct, your going to need a logger for the 2nd gen DSM's, with the OBDII plug. Check out DSM Loggers for a kit. They have complete 2g kits starting at $160.
