Sorry I didnt check back sooner on the bolts.

As you found out the shorter ones go on the bottom 2 bracket holes. Longer ones mount the tranny to the block. Tapered bolts go on top starting with the front hole. The reason is just to get the first or second bolt into the motor without damaging threads. All the tranny's I have dropped had 1 tapered bolt.

That's a clever trick, Terry! Never even thought of trying something like that. We just have someone hold the flex through the starter port with a pry bar. Damn. All this time...

Also, Crazy3 - your inbox is full. You need to dump some of your old shit, per the message I got when my last PM bounced.

Thanks for all of your help guys. Here is a pic of the method I used to torque the bolts for the clutch..

I got the clutch system bled and everything is good. I had some trouble getting the axles in last night so I just went ahead and called it a night and decided to take that on today. I'm about to head into the garage..My question is that on the axle there is some play in the boot closest to the tranny, so it's hard to push it, or hit it with a hammer..

There she is..all put together and ready to go! I have some noises that worry me, one of them is from the transmission, the guys who rebuilt it said it will be there probably 300 or 400 miles since there is so much new stuff inside. Another noise is coming from the Axles...They're remanufactured, hopefully it will go away too. We'll see what happens...

I put new shocks and springs on, before I was rolling on Ebay coilovers and blown shocks Now I've got Tokico HP shocks and Eibach Sportline springs. It raised it from what it was, but it still looks nice I think.

Looks nice! You have the same suspension I want...

Two things though: when and where did you get the 97-99 bumper/headlights, and what happened to your old painted GS-T rims?

I go away for one week for Spring break and I feel like I'm already completely out of the loop. :p

I went 2gb about 2 months ago, if not more. The rims are in my garage though. I'm going to do alittle something to them, then when I get rid of the ones I have now I will use that money to buy some nice new tires for the 5 spokes :thumb:

I'm heading out now to go drive and break the new clutch in some...Talk to you guys in alittle bit.

good job guy... :thumb:

I got stuck last night when the blood alcohol content level rose to a point that I couldn't get my axles out :toobad: Once I get them out, I can do the motor mounts and drop that sucka I hope. Oh yeah...I think I told ya on aim yesterday.......I found holes in the bottom of my tranny!!! :notgood: I guess it really did grenade in there ROFL I'm not on my computer right now, but a thread with pics is to come ;)

Thanks for the props everyone, much appreciated. Now that I look back, I'd do it again and probably alot quicker now that I know the ropes :D

Yeah X you told me on AIM haha. I do believe that the holes also served as a nice drain hole as well eh? We'll find out how much fluid is left after you get those axles out. Goodluck and you know any questions you have, I'll be more than happy to answer.:thumb: When you make your thread, put a link to it in this one.
