I got a lot of different feedback some say Greddy is best some say Arc some even say SSautochrome...? I hear from close friends that SSautochrome Is a "n00b"WTF intercooler and then I hear it's awsome? I also heard the owner got banned from Ebay and had a lawsuit with Greddy? Anyway what kind do you have, and why do you or dont you like it?
Need to know for personal piece of mind. +New dyno read 377whp at 24psi.

Thanks, Ryan :dsm:

Put a link to said "delta fin" intercooler.

eBay Motors: Universal Intercooler 31 x 12 x 3 delta fin 3" (item 170241095267 end time Jul-24-08 22:10:26 PDT)

Please explain. I was under the impression that tube/fin intercoolers cooled better by design, while bar/plate intercoolers were simply more durable in terms of excessive boost pressure and damage from road debris.

Tube/fin intercoolers are lighter and thinner....of course you know that a thinner metal changes temperature quicker and is thereby easier to cool than a thicker metal.

Most OEM car radiators utilize a tube/fin design....wouldn't you think if manufacturers felt bar/plate designs worked better in terms of cooling efficiency they'd change how radiators were designed?

This was my train of thought I just needed to hear it from soneone esle so I knew I wasn't just trying to justify buying this intercooler.

I have an Ebay Intercooler, looks good.

Do not go dv/dt alberts welds suck. I have his manifold and it blew a weld at only 8 pounds and the intercooler well dont get me started there. Slowboy all the way.

If you have the dough, then get an ETS kit. The quality and fitment is like none other; not to mention the customer service. I'm happy with mine. :)

So where can you buy ssac's?

Interesting, I've always been under the impression from others that DV/DT Fab's products were second to none. If anything, SBR has a lackluster reputation in my neck of the woods.

Albert's intercooler's were not so much about the core, it was the endtanks that were the revolutionary portion of the design. Something that will provide a fluid transition from pipe to core, back to pipe, without huge turbulent areas killing flow. There are no other intercoolers/endtanks on the market that can flow as evenly as Albert's design does.

Why? Air is going to travel to the path of least resistance regardless of putting in "flow dividers". The only thing they would do, is add mass, and obstructions for the air to move and equal out flow across the runners.

P1V1 = P2V2

Distributing the air across the entire core is really important to me.

I am a big fan of my ETS FMIC. The install kit fit the car perfectly and the core is def a quality build with efficiency kept in mind. Welds look awesome too.

For good measure, I have three 1G short-route intercooler cores sitting at my shop....a Dejon Race Core, an older Buschur Street Core, and a Punishment Core.

Dejon:

Buschur:

Punishment:

Of the three, the Punishment is the thickest, the Dejon has the biggest core surface area, and the Buschur has the most rows of fins per square inch...almost as many rows as the Dejon core does and the Dejon is 3" taller.

In everyone's opinion, which intercooler would be the best choice of the group? I'm interested in seeing what you guys choose versus the one I'm choosing for my AWD project.

The guy even came on and offered to help I mean I don't see how you can bad mouth the guy. HIs IC's are by the far the best setup I have seen for 2g's so far. I'm a cheap ass when I can be so I live and die by ebay fmic's but if I had an extra grand laying around I would pick one of his up no questions asked.
