what is that......?

i took out my engine recently and in the back of it below the intake manifold to the left of the starter there is a sensor of some king ... what is it?

is it supposed to be coved with something cause mine looks like it's leaking with something and you can see the screw and other stuff inside...
how much is it to replace it ?

If its leaking the goo its bad, replace it with a new one for about $40-80.

ya i had to replace the knock sensor in my car. it ran me about $90 at the local parts store. but be shure that you get the original knock sensor with the wires still connected to it, they will try to give yu an aftermarket circle one.
