Is it just me or does thermal exhaust only come with a 4in tip now? The old ones came with the 5in tip and looked good and sound even better, how is this new style?

I have a 3" (inner) diameter tip Thermal muffler on 1g AWD and I love it. Sounds beautiful.

Unless you WANT horses to have amorous intentions toward your car... leave the horse-**** exhausts to the Hondas.

I had the older style Thermal R and D on my 95 GST and i loved it, the 5inch tip looks amazing in the bumper cutout. you can see pics in my gallery and it sounded so perfect.

hey hey hey!! dont knock the 5" tips buddy!! your just jealous  LOL but for real, it doesnt look that bad and plus it sounds good too! just because the tip is 5" dont compare it to a ricey honda...we atleast get good performance out of the exhaust! :thumb:

If you really want a 5" tip, go cut a hole in a coffee can and mount it up to your exhaust. :D

You guys are definitely mean... he did say he liked the sound of it, and the look on his bumper.

I used to have the original thermal R&D 5" tip back in the day before they went stainless. It snapped itself on a hard launch a few years ago and I could not weld/repair it. I bought another 3" inlet muffler, and I think it doesn't look good nor sound good. The old thermal by far was the best sounding 3" exhaust that I have had... too bad when I broke mine I didn't have the spare $$$ to dish out for a new one.

Just because your tip is big doesn't mean that your a ricer. :notgood: Now if you have a aluminum wing and paint your drum brakes to match your car, then thats a different story. ;)

You get the same performance out of a 4" or 3" tip.. Its the inlet size that you need to worry about.

yes..but the package, i believe, was 3" piping...5" tip...so if you wanted a thermal, it was just part of what you got! i wasnt going to change me wanting a thermal just because of the tip. so when i said persormance i ment the brand. the tip was just part of it ;)

:sosad: HEY! I have painted drums in the back... God dang ESI...

Sorry Snoopy :coy: I was only talking about Hondas, Acuras, etc. DSM's always kick ass no matter what you do to them.

My old honda accord had painted drums and I always got laughed at for painting them.

bringing a dead thread back,

I'm looking for an exhaust rightnow, and after researching I've decided on a thermal. I was just curious if the 5" tip is really gone now. I know I'm going to get dissed on this, but I'm looking for something to fill the whole 2g rear bumper, and the 5" tip from all the pictures I've seen does that. So is it really gone? If it is How would I go about getting the 5" tip?

I just got my Thermal R&D from Extreme Motorsports about 2 weeks ago and it has the 5'' tip. When I read 5'' tip I was little skeptical but it looks really good and flush and sounds amazing!
