what does this mean? CEL CODE P0505

Well, after 2 weeks of having my CEL on, and thanks to Bigglesworth87, I finally found the code for my CEL. The code is P0505 IAC VALVE SYSTEM FAULT, anyone knows what this means? What do I need to do? Thanks.

What is an ISC? What does it do? Is it hard to replace? I am a new dsmr, so sorry to ask so many questions...

Sorry, uh, the ISC= Idle Speed Control. It attached to the throttle body.

You'll want to do some research if your new.

Just a heads up, my ISC coils tested fine, but would still cause a code to be thrown. Replacing the unit fixed the problem. Also a new ISC is pretty expensive. I've found that the cheapest way to get them is to find a throttle body being sold with the ISC attached.
