Hye i am new to the site and have a talon tsi which is in poor shape. I am thinking of letting it go anyways because the bank owns in anyway. I am thinking of buying a 98 gsx. I found one with a 20g turbo and 90,000 miles on it. The car is tuned and all but i need it for a daily driver. do u guys think it will last me a long time with the turbo on a internal stock motor. thanks

It seems that all the DSM owners I know have engine rebuilds around 100k-120k miles. I'm at 129k and I've already had two. I'm only running a B16G. You're looking at a car with 90k and a 20G. Obviously the owner was into racing. My recommendation, if you do decide to get the car, have a good $2000 put away to the side for that rebuild and everything else stupid that is going to break right away... or is already broken.

In most cases, when you buy a modded car, you are buying someone elses problems.

Be prepare to work on your car. If your the type of person that doesnt like troubleshooting or dont have a place to fix the car then DSM is not for you. Lots of car break down because of poor maintenance. I end up taking an automotive course in order to fix my own talon. I only have to get some hours to take the AST test. This is all because of owning my talon.
