i dont know a whole lot about different brands/types of shocks/springs/coilovers and all that stuff. i do however want to lower my car 1.5" to 2" for looks/highspeed stabilty, NOT FOR AUTOCROSS. someone said adjustable coilovers but i dont see myself needing to "adjust" a whole lot so i doubt it would be worth th extra cost. also my car has 140,000 miles on it, is it a good bet that my current shocks/springs are wearing out?(they squeek :thumbdown )
my friend is sponsored and im planning on getting a discount by going in with him and having this shop do it. so, with decent ride quality, what are some good combos that i should look at and what to expect as far as prices.

btw, i hope i dont come across as lazy but this would really take me a long time to research so if u have some helpful advice off the top of ur head it is well appreciated!!

I use the Eibach Pro-kit w/ Tokiko illumina shocks 5-way. Very cost effective and Work very well for my applications. I autoX alot so the adjustable dampining is nice. I live in Maine so alot of roads are very old and bumpy, so running the shocks soft, while have a performance spings, gives a very comfortable, yet confident ride in corners. And on a smooth track, I can make the shocks VERY hard and increase handling there as well. The prokit will lower you 1.5" and should be safe on stock shocks. Any lower and you will be blowing stock/replacement shocks within a month. Also strut tower and sway bars make HUGE improvments to driver imput and car predictability.
