Ok I know you need springs obviously, but Im only going for looks and thats it and I only wanna lower it close to 2". Now my question is What will I need for it besides springs or can I do just springs? Struts or shocks? Or will stock and struts be fine? I've got a 1.8l 92' Eclipse if that helps ;)

i have the exact same question so someone please answer

I also only want to lower about 2", and I was just wondering if lowering springs or coilovers would be good for an extended temporary time until I can afford some agx's

i also have a 92 1.8

oh yeah...opinions on whether to get coilovers or springs

you will need springs, shocks, and camber kits. plus a lifetime alignment at you nearest shop (mine is at firestone) because with the roads (unless yours are perfect) you will knock it out of alignment. i get mine aligned every oil change along with rotating tires. the camber is not such a great issue as the toe will get out of whack and chew up a set of tires in no time. i would suggest at least a good set of coilover kits (ground control) and a decent set of shocks (at least tokico hp_blues). most camber kits are basically the same construction (i went with ingalls, but at the time they were about the only place making them).

You dont have to get that expensive unless you want to. You CAN go without aftermarket shocks with lowering springs but you will have to buy them within a month or so of your new springs. Its just easier/faster to do, obvliously, at the same time. And you WILL need to get a camber kit for the rear. Other than that you should be set.
O I didnt see coilovers or springs question. I have springs and agx's on my car. If I had the money I would buy some really nice 'real' coilovers like TEIN. I would choose coilovers just so I could slam it when its sittin or raise it for snow or dirt.

well i have a lifetime supply of everything (my dad is vp of a shop chain in my state) so thats not a concern....it just looks like crap with 3" or so of wheel gap

i was gonna drop it maybe 1.5" or so and then save to get some struts i was just wondering how long id last....thanks

there is no rear camber kit for 1G FWD. because of the axle/beam design of the suspension back there, the camber does not change when the car is lowered.

tokico doesn't make shocks/struts for the 1G. your options here are KYB (GR-2's or AGX's), Koni, and GAB (if they still make those and you can find them somewhere)

I definitely won't be doing any like autox...i wont even be driving my car hard i just want to lower my car without blowing out struts....of course ride quality is a factor, but will GR-2's be enough to hold a 1.5 to 2" drop? if it is, then thats what ill get bc its definitely more in my price range compared to AGX's

I like the idea of being able to raise and lower coilovers, but im so afraid of them getting out of adjustment that all 4 wheels are at different heights...or maybe hitting a pothole and having my wheel jammed in my fender....thats why i was leaning more toward springs....give me some suggestions of good springs and coilovers that arent too badly priced ($200 or less?) thanks
