what bov sounds like a new evo?

i had problem with my apexi bov, i took it off and it was sounds like a truck and bus. my friends all laughed me, it is really same as the sound came from the big bus.
i really like the sound came from new evos(they might put aftermarket one), what kind bov is that? or the sound like nfs underground.

So, You took your blow off valve off? What is there now, Anything? You want your car to sound like a ''new evo'', Or like a video game? Well, Hopefully someone else can understand what you are exactly saying. It's only a blow off valve, As long as it holds boost, And opens when it should.. What does it matter what it sounds like? Your car is not a video game, And it is not an evo.. There for you cannot really make it sound like either of the two.

Just get a Greddy Type-S. You won't be disappointed since you are so concerned about what it will sound like, in my opinion it sounds way better than any stock Bov out there.

I think that part of your problem is that your current Bov is dumping into the atmosphere therefore making it louder than any stock Eclipse or Evo (bus sound).
Sell your Apex-i Bov and install the Greddy recirculating back into the intake You will trip people out with its peculiar whistling sound.

you can always get the greddy like others say or get the blitz recirculated which sounds something similar to the game.

for open atmos. i have the hks one and it sounds nice and mean between shifts. however now that i have it recirculated it isnt very audible.

Personally i love the first gen bov sound. I also have a type-RS seeing as though no one would sell me a type s. As soon as i get that installed ill post up how i like it.

Actually, I suspect he means that he removed the BOV entirely. He might have taped the holes shut, at which point he would sound like a turbocharged truck decellerating... a good number of them don't have BOVs, but their diesel-designed turbos are beefy enough to deal with compressor surge.

If what I just said is correct, he's getting a very loud high pitched whine any time he lets off quick. And is destroying the living crap out of his turbo. Get that BOV/CBV back on your car so it can run properly. Hell, get a replacement 1G.





If I'm incorrect though, and he's trying to atmosphere-vent to get the 'pssh' sound without doing a proper blow-through setup, by all means, fire at will.
After all, there's a difference between making an uneducated mistake, and being a wannabe trendy idiot.

Deisel trucks regulate the fuel supply for throttle control, they suck in as little or as much air as needed... therefore no need for a BOV.

You probably sound like a truck because you are over spinning the ity bity turbo. When my T25 was on it's way out, it would scream like a little bi***.

Over-running the turbo can easily be accomplished by a boost leak. But the BOV back on (in the stock form), leak test and report back.

Please, re-read your posts after typing them so we can at least TRY and understand what you're saying... Do you have a BOV install on your car right now? Is there a tube going from your BOV to your intake pipe? If it's no to both, fix lets get them fixed, then we'll work through your performance blind desires.

get a type s, i have 1. just turn it up to the hard setting and u will like it....sounds like a softer blitz bov and at full boost it whisles

today, i just put the apexi bov back by myself, because i lost the ring under than stock bov. the stock bov always pops up.
i took off the stock bov, covered the hole on intake pipe. connected the little hose to intake manifold, now, the car runs horrible!!!!!!!
if i push hard on my car after i put back on neutral the engine will off, no steering wheel no break!! i have to push in any gear to make the engine running again. i think maybe i will seal good on the hole of intake pipe thats why the sensor shuts off the engine?
if the intake pipes leaks will the engine will shuts down by itself?

What "pops up"?

Its sounds like you are trying to vent to the atmosphere. Don't. You have to have the recirculation tube going from the BOV to the turbo intake.

the "pops up" means the stock bov will came out from the intake pipe then my car will shut off then i need put my bov back to the hole on the intake pipe which is the bov setting on.
my apexi bov is atmosphere, i cant do recirculation

Man I cringe just reading about this and i consider myself a newbie. So let me get this straight you are running your car with no bov what so ever, just tape over the hole . I must be reading it wrong. It actually runs like that? I think you should be looking into getting a honda. LoL

man, i just found out i didnt connect the hose came from the engine cover to intake manifold!! i put back on then my car is ok now!! but when every time i put on neutral my rmp will drop to 400-500 rpm then back to 700rpm(my idle speed) what you think the problem is?
