I can't seem to find an actual answer, mostly because I was searching yahoo answers ROFL, but I would legitimately like to know what brand was used in the movie.

If your referring to the silver R34 GTR from 2fast 2furious, which is currently sitting at universal studios in California. It was the Greddy Type R

I doubt you will get one that actually sounds like that. I think the bov sound is probably stored on a computer that was used to edit the film.
I was just hoping that they used a real bov sound though. I liked the blow off valve flutter, but I want it to be because of the design not because it's surging LOL

Its not computer generated, if u also watch the prelude to 2fast 2furious it shows what happens between part 1 and 2 and shows how he got that GTR in the first place, during all this you can hear the Greddy Type R blow off valve pretty clearly.

in fact heres the video in case some of you havent seen this, towards the end you can REALLY hear the sweet sound of the Type R =)

I'm fairly confident all car sounds were added later. It's just how movies are made.

Then obviously you haven't heard or seen this car in person man. Craig Lieberman (the director) used to own it before he sold it to universal

He owned a lot of cars from the movies like the orange Supra. He also wasn't the director, he was the technical adviser or something like that. Some of the sounds may have been the actual cars, but they were all added later regardless.

He was the director or producer, I forgot which one. He was in part one twice, he was the pizza guy that was told to find another way home, and he was the guy that flagged the cars down at race wars.

But on second thought maybe he was the technical advisor, that does sound pretty familiar.

That GTR didn't have the HKS it had the Greddy type R, the supra from the second movie had the HKS super sequential though. So hopefully all that info helps the OP

Yeah if your looking for that flutter, my SSQV does it it nearly made me shit when I first took ioff in the car I had to pull over and hand rev the engine to feel it the blow off, I though I was surging my compressor.
