Well, you all wanted to see the pictures of the Sparco Torino II's in my car... so here they are.
I'd like to say these seats get an A+++ rating from both me and my good friend. I can now hardly feel the bumps in the road, and my back doesn't hurt anymore on rides. My butt now stay's awake while driving, and it feels like you are sitting on a cloud! No joke. If you have the money GET these seats! They are AWESOME!

weird question... but how tall are you?

i'm 6'2" and 160lbs... and wanted to know if i could even fit in those seats? I assume I could but just wondering if they are tall person compliant...

Oh yea... THEY LOOK AMAZING!!! PROPS!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I figure the stock seats are kinda heavy... How good was the weight reduction?

those are nice man.. looks like it goes wit the interior quite nicely..

however arent them seats like $500 each? too broke for that :(

my gsx power seat will have to for now.. :thumbdown

I'm about 6'1"/6'2" and I weight around 135. I know I'm a little guy. ;) But I set the bases at the lowest setting, and my head still has like 3-4" until I hit my head on the roof.
I don't know about the weight reduction, but I felt that lifting the stock seats was easier then lifting the Sparco seats. So I'd say the stock ones were lighter.
Actually they retail for around $600-$620 each. But I had a friend hook me up for a price below wholesale or it was wholesale... I don't know it was a great deal though. :p I'd put these seats on top of your list of things to buy, they are awesome. Worth every penny!

Very nice.

Stock 2G seats suck. They have got to be the worst factory seats I have ever sat in. I can't sit still in my friend's GST for more than 30 minutes. My 13 year old talon seats are more comfortable than his when his were new in '97.

Do spend the $40 to get the optional pneumatic lumbar support since Sparco doesn't include the feature in their seats. It'll save your back and keep you from turning into a hunchback. Besides... according to Bondurant... the upright position is the correct competition position.

i would think comfort, ability for a 5-point harness, and looks would be 3 big reasons. I can't imagine them being much more than stock.. especially the motorized driver seat.

why would you put race seats in your car if they are heavier than stock? just curious, they look nice though

Because they are more supportive. They allow for the use of harnesses. And he can.

Yes, they don't weight that much more, without the base and sliders attached to both seats I'd say they weight pretty much the same.
They aren't really "racing seats" they are more just an upgrade from stock. If I wanted a racing seat I would have gotten the Pro2000 from Sparco. I just love these seats. :)
I'll look into the lumbar support. Thanks!

Damn, those look so cool. :thumb: I'd love to have a set of Sparco Torinos in my 2G. One question, how does the stock seat belt fit into all of this? Do the Sparcos have a mounting point for the buckle?

Look at your car man. Belts are attached to the car... not the seats. They wouldn't do their job if they're attached to the seats. Point of belts is to keep you moving with the motion of the car in case of a collision, not against. If belts were attached to seats and the seats fail then the belts are useless. You'd be tossed around in the car with the seat. The seat would add to your weight. More mass x acceleration = more momentum = more damage & lots of hurting.

No builder in their right mind would attach belts to seats.

You've got the left side switched with the right side. The release latch for the seat backs are suppose to be outboard not inboard. More convenient outboard, no need to reach in and around to flip the seats forward.

Really? that's cool. Years ago Sparco's seats only had the lever on one side.

So what did you end up doing with the slider lever? bend? cut?

No builder in their right mind would attach belts to seats.

Lots of cars are built with the seat belts attached to the seat. I can cite Mercedes Benz as one. In fact, all new MB models have the seat belt buckle attached to the seat. So are you telling me MB is not in their right mind? Look around, man.

BTW, thanks for the lecture.

Okay... are DSMs built like MBs? would you trust your DSM belts if they were bolted to your DSM seats?

Point remains... look at your car. Belt buckles are bolted on the floor. It's your car. You should know.

Sure I would. If they came that way, why not? If they came that way, they would've passed the necessary safety requirements. Besides, what difference does it make how a car is built when it comes to how and where the seat belt buckle is mounted? There is no difference in the way an MB car seat is bolted down to the floor compared to a DSM.

Sorry for committing a sin and not knowing every little tidbit of my car. Perhaps I'll be as smart as you someday.

"So what did you end up doing with the slider lever? bend? cut?"
Oh I bent, and I cut it to work. :)

Ok to end this seat belt debate, the buckle that the seat belt locks into everytime you buckle up is mounted to the seat base. I know, I had to remove it from my stock seats and relocate it to the new seat bases.

Thanks for the clarification from someone that knows for sure.

Please. Some people should stop giving misinformation if they don't know or aren't sure, instead of acting like they are God's gift to the automobile. I was certain that they were attached to the seats themselves. If they're attached to the floor, wouldn't that not make sense since they won't move with the seat when you adjust them? If you moved your seat all the way forward, the buckles would be way back there and hard to reach. If your seat was all the way back, there would be slack between your body and the belt where it attaches to the buckle. A lot of good they will do then, huh? I really don't know what PaulPDX is smoking, but it can't be too good for the mind. ;)

What he's smoking might also be affecting his vision, too, since in the first picture, you can see the seatback quick release lever on the outboard side, yet he claims they were mounted wrong.

BTW, the buckles are not bolted to the floor. The seat belt reels are. Both on the 1G and 2G. The 2G has one reel while the 1G has 2 reels due to the automatic seat belt design. For each front seat, one under the center console for the shoulder belt and one on the opposite side for the lap belt. Point remains..... Look at your car, PaulPDX. It's your car, you should know these things.

Again, Flash, nice seats. :thumb:
