Hey guys, i'm tying to tune my car and i keep getting a backfire at 5000 rpms, and the logger reads 43 counts of knock and my wideband went to 19. the car pulls all the way to 5000 rpms hard w/ no knock, good timing 23degrees, wideband is at 11.5 to 10.5, boost is at 15 psi creeping to 20 (don't know why but thats not the issue), mas hz are at 1380 hz when it happens, bpr6es plugs at .028. If i make a pull at 80% throttle the car pulls all the way to redline with ease. I dont get it.

I have a logger using mmcd but i cant figure out how to hotsync the thing i feel stupid. But i just changed the plugs out to bpr7es gapped at .028, going to take a ride now to see what that does. as for boost leaks i havent check but like i said i boot 15 psi creeping to 20 and it holds good. but anything is possible. I wish i could hotsync my palm so i can post a log it would probably help alot more

i have mmcd tools it everything came with the logger, but when i try to hotsync my palm to put a log on my computer it says connection not established i dont have a serial port but i use a serial to usb adapter and tried it on all the different hotsync options and it still doesnt work. do i need a usb palm b/c i dont have a serial port? But anyway tried changing plugs to bpr7es at .028 but no change. I dont think its a spark or fuel problem b/c i have plenty of both. Could it be my tps b/c i noticed on my logs that it doesent go to 100% when wot. sometimes it hits 99.6% & kinda flucuates 99 to 87 back & forth and my foot is pinned on the throttle but never hits 100%. also once in a while when light on the throttle 10, 15 percent, the car kinda humps the air so to speak like when you would blip the throttle while in gear but im holding it steady. ive heard that a bad tps gives symptoms like this and can cause break-up at high rpms.

its a palm IIIxe and it came with the obdloggers program and the palm already had mmcd and palm & stein on it, but i only use mmcd b/c the buttons on palm & stein are a little confusing, plus mmcd has more monitoring capabilities, but the only thing i can think of is that the software on the palm and whats on the cd that came with it are different. but i want to check for boost leaks today b/c i have the day off.

Well I think I found my problem. My new accel plug wires came last night and when I put them on I noticed that the last post on my ignition coil for plug wire #3 has a big hole in it so looks like I need a new ignition coil.

Well, I changed my ignition coil today and it did't fix the problem, but I noticed when I made a pull after changing coils that just before this happens my idc go from 71% to 48% and my wideband goes way lean and I'm still full throttle. So I made the afc richer from 4000 rpms to redline and it brought the knock down from 43 to 18 counts, but no matter how much richer I make it I still get 18 counts of knock and my idc give me the same reaction so I'm thinking it could be my fuel filter.

:) Well after a bunch of troubleshooting I found out my problem was fuel cut. Swapped out my 1g mas for a 2g mas and the car is running great WOT pulls all the way through the rpms with ease.
