hey guys, it looked like a few of you got a chance to run this past week. im looking to see if anyone wanted to head out next wednesday, since it is my spring break. i think ill be running my talon. i have plenty of friends that are coming along, almost all turbo cars so it is going to be fun. here are some of the cars going: 03 wrx, 91 mr2 turbo, 98 awd tsi, sr20 swapped 240, mr2 na w/turbo hybrid, 91 notchback, integra gsr, integra gsr, 98 tacoma. maybe some more. we could use a few more dsm's though. so let me know if you guys want to come with. i need to run my talon before i sell it. mid/low 13's hopefully. see everyone there!

aww man, sac is so far...
what time does it open, what time does it close? How many runs do you usually get? If the weather is good i think im just going to go to infineon... but if enough people are going to go to sac, that might be fun...
I just want to know more of the details.

Im going for sure on the 22nd as well. A Celica and an AE86 are comming with me too.
cool, i look forward to seeing you there. and by the looks of your mods list we should be right at the same level.

the track opens at 5pm. 5-7pm are time trials so you can get your dial in set and tune your car a bit of you need. 7-10 are eliminations. it all depends on how well you run your car to see how many more runs you will get. im mainly going for the time trials. i just want to see what it'll do before i sell it. plus all my friends are going.

ok so its pretty much the same as infineon wed nights, but it starts later.

Sorry but im stickin with infineon... i cant afford to tow my car back from sac if something happens...

Right on for the quick info though!!

its gonna rain, id call in the morning to make sure they are running. 1800870RACE. Im planning on going next week, the 22nd with a few more cars (hopefully) but i dont think they will run tomorrow judging by the weather. (this is infineon by the way, sorry to jack the thread)

Danny

Yeah, I plan to call. So far is not going to rain tomorrow

So it shouldn't rain and if you check Hour by Hour. It says rain should start around 9ish tomorrow wed, which is fine with me because I can race early in the afternoon and if it starts raining in the evening I could get a free ticket to go back HEHE $$

so what did u run greddygst??? im planning on going next week and the week afer, hopefully my friend with the srt4 will go too so i can smoke him and show him that he should have kept his talon!!! ha

I ran crappy times all day
First my launches were really sucky (FWD) spin too much or it bog
Hit 2.6-2.9 0-60 ft
No traction 1st and 2nd gear (Wouldn't grip till 3rd gear causing RPMs to increase really fast)
It wasn't till 3rd gear that I felt I had all the power on the ground
Average of low 14s @ 111mph

I need slicks bad!! or Awd conversion haha

yeah...that car has so much more potential...get some slicks. that gt30r should put you well into the 12's if you have traction

its good to know your trapping 111 mph and netting 14's. STOP WITH THE SUPRA COMPLEX ALREADY!!!!

jk, good luck next time out, you going on the 29th? Ill come down and show you what the good ol' 14b can do!!! with the help of all four wheels taking me down the track, I hope to get some good 60's and bring me close to 12's. maybe some elder's could help me in making my wishes come true.

Dood, he put down 400+FWHP on the dyno on pump gas. Finally some high hp DSMs in norcal who post here! (besides zach whos car seems to never be running :p)

let me tune my 50 and lets have a run. from a stop, then you romp me on the freeway. :)

Oh, i'm freeway king :p

Tstkl, I might go next week to infineon again but that is a big IF because I know that I won't do any better unless I have slicks. I am going to CMI april 1-2 for sure and hopefully I will have some slicks with me.

Luis why don't you run the drag radials. I know you said you didn't want to drive them on the highway, is there a reason for this? FWIW my street tires are 17" bfg drag radials they drive great on the street since they are still a belted radial just like any other tire.

This might sound dumb but what does FWIW stand for? :p
How long would drag radials last on the street/highway use? I just don't want to waste em while driving to places at 0 boost. They would come in handy if someone wants to run me out of nowhere but I don't really race on the street so I prefer to keep em for track use only. I have a set of Nitto555R on 16" swirly rims, i'm thinking of using this for street use..

for what its worth, i think....

as for the tires, Im sure if you went to a tire dealer they could tell you the estimated milage of any tire, and Im sure if you search the manufacture's website it will have it too.

Ya just like tstkl said it stands for "for what its worth" it took me forever to figure it out and now I use it all the time since it is easier than actually typing it out. As for milleage I really don't know, the bfgs have a softer compound and from I have read people usually get about 10k miles out of them without burnouts to oftern or to much track use. It you are heavy on the burnouts at the track and love to get to speed quickly on the street you should expect about 6k-8k on them. If you are going to use them for track only just throw them on before you head to the track and take them off when you get back home.

Yea, I'll put em on for when I head to the track. Should last me for a long time, track isn't a all day event and I don't go all the time.

im gonna try to get out to sac the 22nd. me and my buddy have been trying to get out there for the past 2 weeks, first week we were gonna leave at 3 from work but 2:30 comes and we got swamped. second week it was raining all morning, and in the sac direction was just black clouds. hopefully things will look good this week.

ill be out there with the black 02 GT with the saleen s281 wing thats unpainted(flat black, car goes to paint next week, had to test fit to see if i liked the look before i drop 2k on paint and realize i dont like it cause of a little thing like a spoiler) if i go. anyone with dsm's, i WILL be checking your cars out, so dont hesitate to say whats up, im still a dsmer and will always be.

sweet. im glad that someone is going to try to make it to the track with us. it is supposed to clear up by then.
