Weatherstrip mold removal, how to?

When I bought my car used, it had mold on the weatherstripping underneath the windows and all aroung the rear window trim. Has anyone had this problem? What did you do to remove it. I've used Dawn, Simple Green, fine steel wool, and Orange Cleaner. No luck. I'm afraid to use Tilex on the black rubber. AAAHHHGGGG!

P.S. Can anyone tell me how to remove the molding above both driver and passenger windows? My flat-black paint is starting to come off and I need to repaint them. Thanks.

How do you know it's a mold? Any mold should come off with a weak detergent and elbow grease. If nothing else use some bleach. If you're worried about surrounding upholstery, just use a cotton swap dipped in bleach.

It smells like mold. I used a scotchbrite on it and it still didn't come off. I guess I'm looking at having to get all new weatherstrip. Oh well, add it to the list. Thanks for the reply, though.
