Water Injection??

If you did spray water before the IC there is also the chance that the water could go through the BOV return line and through the turbo. This could also potentially create a buildup of water somewhere in the intake system. What could the negative effects of this be?

During the 7- hour intemittant dyno runs, the intercooler never
>go above
>ambient - below ambient during idle when some residual water is still being
>evaporated.

I think that you wouldnt be able to get enough water to puddle to do any damage.

lets say that you have your water triggered at 15 psi to come on and you run 25 psi max. you make a run so there is a little water that has puddled in the intercooler. you turn around to come back to the start and you get on it a bit and you fet to about 12-14 psi you jsut sent super hot air through the IC at lets say 150 degrees and evaporated anything left over.

Personaly I am going to try this set up out on the daily driven 95. i would like to be able to 20-23 on the t28 with no race gas

Water injection itself doesn't make more power. It just makes it safe to make more power.

Wow, at least someone finally gets it.

Spraying water before the IC is on par with spraying nitrous before the IC. What is the point? You'll ALWAYS get better results spraying after the IC. If your goal is to cool the IC, then spray it directly ON it. Why give it 3 extra feet to heat up when you can spray it 12-18 inches from the throttle body, get proper atomization, and make more power? Water and alcohol injection simply pull heat out of the intake charge. By themselves, they will NOT add any substantial power. But if you can run 20 pounds of boost on race gas, 12 pounds on pump gas, you may be able to get away with running closer to your race gas boost levels with a pump gas/water (or alcohol) mixture.

your not actually recirculating through the turbo. your just evaporating the alky in the IC making it colder.

Very possible water injection is great stuff I have built my own kit and love it. Its like having a Huge FMIC in the winter right at your TB. :thumb: If you are looking for some good DIY water injection setups look in the tech articles wrote a how to.
