Maybe I'm just stupid, but after searching and not finding anything this is annoying me.
My car is basically all stock, minus a K&N filter. It has always been boosting at 12psi for the past month I've owned it, yesterday it spiked to 16psi, and now its boosting to 16psi consistently?
Could it be the wastegate sticking closed?

Could be. Check the wastegate actuator by disconnecting it from the flapper. Then pressurize it to 12psi and check for free movement. If that checks out fine then move the flapper, it should move around 90* from closed position.
