Wanted; Info on Battery, Cables, and Clamps

Hi all,

I recently had to take the negative connection off my battery to reset the check engine light. I discovered that the clamps are not in good condition. The terminal posts were badly corroded. I think the battery may be the original. I did the best I could to clean them up, but I am thinking that I want to replace the battery, cables and clamps (as well as the little metal bar that holds the battery in place).

Anyone know how hard this is to do? I am not a gear head. Anyone want to walk me through the process?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am running just the base/stock stereo so I don't need any high end or overpowering stuff. I would, however, like it to look nice once installed. And, of course, I want it to be dependable.

Autozone and all those auto places have new clamps/wires/posts for sale.
I cleaned mine up w/ baking soda and a dremel w/ copper brush attachment.

or you can use this chance to do the "upgraded ground" mod
ya just use good quality stereo terminals + wire.

If your just looking to replace the battey and cables, Advance Auto and all those will replace your old battery with a new one for free. Save you the work to do it yourself, plus they will dispose of the old one for ya. But definately look to upgrade if the opportunity exist.
