Okay so my interior in my car is black: Headliner, center console etc. BUT the dash is grey:( I want to make my dash black and do a black and tan interior. Should I just paint everything with tan? what do you guys think?

thanks a lot

I think the best route would be to replace all the pieces with the actual stock tan rather than paint. Sometimes painting a lighter color over a darker gives a weird appearance.

But anyways here's a good goal

I never cared for the tan interior, but damn that shot ^^ looks good! I guess the few extra tan touches the owner added really made it flow well!

That looks great motozach! I like how if you paint the trim pieces in the console tan it doesnt look rice. But I want to do something like that but with black door panels with the plastic piece tan. I was thinking sand everything down with proper grits and prime and paint with some kind of tan. How should I do the dash?

Hey thanks man :thumb: VERY lightly sand the plastic pieces if that's the route that you end up going, if you rough it up too much it'll end up looking terrible. As for the dash, you can probably do it the same way, although I would suggest getting a new one in the color of your choice

Just buy the pieces off of a part out or junkyard car. TRUST ME I tried the paint properly method with a few extra pieces to attempt all black and it never matches the factory black. Do it the right way because if you DD your car you will be bumping into the pieces and the paint will chip/fade eventually I don't care how you prep it. Just do it and forget about it.

^ I'd have to agree 100% I had a painted dash in a car about 5-6 years ago and after a while it really didn't look too good, and it's alot of work to constantly keep it looking good. It'll be a little more expensive getting the parts from a junkyard or ebay, but it'll be a one shot thing :thumb:

Btw this is the paint that I used, it was a perfect match. The color is #241238

Here in Canada we have Krylon Fusion - it's a paint made specifically for painting plastic and vinyl. I don't know if it's available in the U.S. but the stuff is awesome. I painted my entire interior (dash, door panels, console, pillars, etc.) with it and I have NO complaints. Excellent adherence.
