So the taillights on my car are (stupid) dark with VNT Nightshade... anyone have any advice on how to remove this? The car is unsafe to drive during the day.

Also I've got what I'm guessing is 1% tint (that was a joke, it's got to be something like 5% limo tint) on my rear windows that's got to come off. Seriously, if a hella-tite civic with HIDs in his stock headlights is behind me I see two dim spot. I've seen a bunch of links on how to remove tint with steam, etc. but I was hoping to get some real feedback... the tint was applied just before I bought the car so I'm hoping it won't be too hard. Try it myself or take it to a pro?

Steaming it is the best way to remove tint off a rear window, especially if it has defroster lines. It will more than likely get all of the glue off and for what ever it doesnt some goo gone or the such should work. They sell mini steamer machines for garments and the such for pretty cheap, pick up one of those, that is what I have used at a pro shop to take the tint off. REMEMBER!! DO NOT USE A RAZOR BLADE ON A REAR WINDOW WITH DEFROSTERS!!!

Its easy, you peel it off. Get a knife edge, work from a corner and go SLOW. Slowly just peel it, if you rush it will make it 100x harder.

After use some Goo Gone and call it a day.

Night shade, not sure if you will be able to get it off. I think you might need new lens. Or you can try and use some paint thinner. Then try and buff it off.

It does come off, I took it off my car as to avoid getting pulled over.

Get a roll of paper towels, i used goo gone extreme. Be careful with it though, It will melt through the plastic if you let it sit on there to long. I bet other chemicals will work just as well too. It comes off easy enough, Good luck.:thumb:

I'll give it a try... I tried regular goo gone but no luck. I think he unloaded a can a side (and one of the center section) so it's kinda thick.

I know where I can get the two outside pieces in a yard right now so if all else fails I can replace.
