vibration at high rpm and compression

Hey guys appreciate anyone who gives me answers. First off the vibration at high rpm, the vibration at the high rpm sounds like the engine is reving to hard, hard to explain but something is really wrong vibrates super hard. And next i just had a quick question about compression, i know my rings or going bad dod a comp. Test and got. 123,125,125,125 and did the oil drop and got to 160, but until i can afford the new rings or rebuild if i do, will the car run a decent still for the meantime. I will get it fixed when i have the money and i know service for compression is 120 or 14 psi difference in cylinders. What could be causing this big vibration. Oh and btw i cant really set the CAS because the person before me tore off the timing marks... Sad

what do you mean by vibration? does the whole car shake or what? have you checked your motor mounts?

i'm having this same problem, I haven't done the compression test yet though. I do know these cars sound funny when you have a boost leak, have you tested for that?

Its not that they sounds funny actually, its that the car has to work extra hard to pull because it is tuned to for the boost.

Its just a weird vibration, when I rev it, it sounds like the engine is working way to hard or something, I can even see the timing belt move a little bit, its from the engine, this is not driving either, drives decent when I'm boosting. Do you guys know if someone swapped a different year dash (speedometer and all that) into a 1990 will it still work? seems like it does the vibrations around 5k rpm and struggles to go up in rpm.

Have you had the timing belt off recently? If you get that oil pump/ balance shaft pulley out of 180 degrees out it causes for a strange vibration like feeling at higher rpm.

You should also check out the elastic ring in the harmonic balancer to make sure it isn't blown out or worn to badly.
