calgary,
I just got a 97 Talon. TSI Automatic.. I have been doing a ton of reading already . Did all the free mods. Changed plugs stuff like that. Boost is good as far as I can tell. Get to 11 psi fairly quick. BUT it is VERY sluggish off the line. Like a 2 year old on a broken tricycle can start off faster. As soon as the boost kicks in then I'm gone but man its bad off the start. It may be a timing issue. I checked it but still have 2g cas and could not even see the timing mark near the indicator. So that leads me to believe that it is really retarded. So I did purchase a 1g cas but it is not here yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else it might be. Thanx.. TTY

No nothing else weird. It seems fine other than that.. I used to race old chevys but now have switched. I used to run 10's in my old Nova. So I Have some good engine knowledge but turbo's are new to me..
It just seems very spungy. I had a Protege 5 with 130hp and it would easily beat me off the line. But like I said when the turbo spools it gets really fast..

Let me know what you think.. TTY

I hope it is just not that sluggish. The Auto should not make it that bad.. Like I said I thknk the base timing is retarded cause I can't even see the mark when checking it.. TTY
