Me and my boy went to look at a talon tsi..i think it was a 96..somewhere around there..buh he had a 16g and all mods to support it...he was venting without a GM MAS..i asked him about it and he said it was fine to do with a auto???..i rly dont think thats true buh i was just wondering wat u guys think...it seemed like it was runnin a lil rich..had some black smoke so i think he just likes the sound and doesnt care about anythin els..he also said he took it to a dyno...it base lined at 200hp with everything and they tuned it to 276...is it ok to vent if its tuned???

The effects of venting, just like fpr overrun, can not be tuned out.

it seemed like it was runnin a lil rich..had some black smoke so i think he just likes the sound and doesnt care about anythin els..
If that is truly what he said, perform a compression test before you deal.

This is just between me and my friends... Both of my friend has 1.8t vw cars one is auto other is stick. They both ran HKS SSQV venting the bov, One with auto didnt seem to have any problem other than maybe running little bit rich but on a stick car the car was running like $hit and ran rich. [now he does have fmic on a stick 1.8t i believe he has turbo smart bov with it since he couldnt find type s but later on he changed to hks.. same problem happen with it.. ]

I think venting is very odd because some ppls has ran into no problem some do... so test drive it and see how it feels...

If you vent with auto it don't effect much other then the idle, it goes a little out of wack. Mine I tried it and i didn't really care for the sound. On the other hand my engine light came back on when I put it back to recirculate, then when I vented again it came off. WTF
but the only thing I notice is idle was a little f-up.

well..i dont vent..i dont see the point..it hurts the car wether u feel it or not..its always gonna run rich..and vw are made for diverters..BOV work with 1.8t buh its just a waste of money..i have a 01 1.8t jetta..forge 007 diverter and CAI..sounds just fine..

and we did drive it...the everything was fine besides the UIP..he has a bigger side mount and used PVC!!!very hack...the UIP comes of when u hit boost..not good at all buh thats an easy fix..the idle was ruff..pretty sure thats from it being vented..

I vented for a short time with my auto gsx; after recirculating, the car felt 1000x smoother and seemed to just run better in general.

It took me about a year to convince my friend who was venting his type s on his Mr2. When he finally came around, that was exactly what he said.
