Hey guys, first post on the forums.

So, I've checked the oil in the car, I've had my tuner check the fuel/air ratio as well.

But when I'm driving down the highway, and it kicks into over-drive, (Yes my GSX is an auto sadly) sometimes I get a wicked valve chatter, and I think it is. I'm not a professional.

I know the previous owner, ran the car hard, and over-heated it so bad that the plug wires melted. That's their claim anyway.

Also, I notice to, that my oil pressure drops hella low at idle, and then I watch as the temperature climes slowly and steadily until I put my foot back on the accelerator.

I will take a short video, to see if you can here it.

Could timing effect this in anyway?

A video will tell us a little bit, I'm auto as well and haven't had an issue like this ever. I don't think timing would affect it, I'm almost leaning towards the end clutch disks going out. If it only happens when you kick it into OD.

I had an auto and could be the trans computer messing up on you. If it starts going, it will eat up your OD as it did mine 2x. They tried to say it was cause of my speedo cable....

And I also know the service engine light is on.

Code was for crank positioning sensor.

Do you think it's time for a rebuild than?

The motor on has 81,xxx miles on it.

if your cel is for the crank position sensor then your timing is off most likely. test the sensor then see if your timing is right, clear the code and see if that helps.

How should I got about testing the timing?

I'm 19, and i'm still learning.

My father has one of those timing gun things, should I get him to test it, or should I clear the code first, than see what happens.

VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions there should be a tutorial on there how to test the sensor, yes ask your father to help you check the timing, the CPS is probably the most important sensor you have, if it's not working your timing is most likely messed up.

Okay. I've also called about the CPS for replacement. Advanced auto, Auto zone, and O'Rilley's Doesn't carry them at all. How should I go about obtaining one, if that is needed.
