Unused brackets under the dash

I ve never seen anyone mention these. Not sure if anyone knows what I am talking about without pics?

There are two rectangular flat metal pieces on each side, right in the corners near the windshield/below the side mirrors. Held on with 2 bolts, nothing attached or held on to them. I ve got sound deadening out now but don't think they even really held that on?
As far as I can tell they can go in the weight reduction scrap pile

They just support the dash.

makes sense. I was thinking the lip of the dash might rest there, but my dash is inside on a random table. And wasn't about to stuff it back in the car to have a look !

A lot of weight can be reduced from the dash as well depending on what your purpose for the car is. You could remove a lot of the air vent ducting as well.

Yep, I ve lots more wieght I ve yet to take out!

Definitely add it to the weight reduction pile and cut anything else out you can.
