Alright, I have a '97 Eclipse GST. I have a problem occasionally, but not very often. Here is the problem: While I am accelerating, I do not accelerate at the normal rate. I think it is related to the turbo because when I look at the gauge (which is still stock :nono: ) the boost is climbing very slowly. If I let off of the gas for a sec then press again I will accelerate as normal. This is not occuring starting out, but after shifting. I think it is usually in third gear that it happens. Thank you in advance.

The 'boost gauge' won't tell you anything, get a real one. For some reason, my car did that when I first got it and I have a buddy with a 95 AWD that did that too on the t-25. I got a new turbo and a built 6-bolt and it completely fixed the problem :D

But really, my guess was that it was the excessive shaft play in mine, we never checked his. Pop off your intake tube and stick your finger in and try to wiggle the shaft (with the car off). There should really be no movement, but a *tiny* bit is not too harmful.

Thank you. I will try that. I'm sure that I didn't describe the problem very well, but I don't really know how to. Is there anything else that anyone can think of to try?

i very well can be the snail. then again you might just have some kind of loose connection, corrosion, short to ground etc. in the circuit. the stock gauges use a very simple variable resistor while after market gauges get better with the price. if it does have to do with the connection you might not have the right valve overlap or there could be a piston that really isnt firing right... have it diagnosed bro and good luck.

1. Boost leak.
2. Faulty actuator or a wastegate not closed completely.
3. Dying turbo.
4. Exhaust leak before o2 housing.

Alright thanks guys. I guess I have a lot of checking to do. Another thinng I was thinking it may be is the MAF. What do you guys think?

best bet is to check with what "oldman" gave you first...one or a combination of these are most likely the culprits....I guess I don't know how many miles you have on your rig, but slow boost is ussually a sign of a turbo going...any kind of smoke yet? My t-25 was so toasted at 103K that the shaft was completely seized...from what I gather, the stock t-25 is not much for longevity under hard use...270 degree thrust bearing equals prone to breakage...if you're up there on milage or if you have pushed your t-25 too hard, well i would think that would be your most likely issue

or your clutch may be slipping. if that's the case, do a search cuz there's a fair amount of info on that
